Great location just off the beach and near the main streets.
Very clean and nicely maintained.
This is a typical Deal conservation area house so people with mobility problems would have issues with the windy stairs. However, it is bigger then many of the houses around so not too bad.
Very spacious. The kitchen is a lovely space, we spent a lot of time there eating and reading and playing games. It isnt a modern fancy area, which for us made it feel homely. Lounge has 2 areas, really nice for bigger groups. Bedrooms are all really spacious and gorgeous views over the rooftops.
My only complaint is the mattresses. Really need new ones in some of the rooms.
House was warm and cosy and an ideal holiday home. And it does feel like a home. We had a wonderful Xmas there (up to 8 of us).
Quick word about the letting company. Great service and we arrived to a lovely real Xmas tree and a bottle of wine (and they were kind about us locking ourselves out after just 10 minutes).
We were six people plus baby (7 months). Bearing in mind that the accommodation is billed as sleeps 8, it was a bit disconcerting that the small sitting room, as configured, couldn't accommodate us properly. We had to do some reconfiguring - bringing the settee in from the rear room (placing it front of the fire place) and putting the conservatory table into the rear room. Then we enjoyed ourselves!
One thing really needs seeing to. The front door is jagged at the bottom and the raw wind comes howling in. Also, the dishwasher didn't work and there's not much one can do when this happens over Christmas except sing whilst hand washing the dishes.
The other thing that needs to be changed is the SCART only TV. We had the foresight to bring a proper TV to which we could attach the Amazon Fire box via HDMI. The antiquated TV had a small screen and is just out of tune with current requirements.
But, because we enjoyed ourselves in the re-arranged constellation, and the cooker did it's turkey job perfectly, plus it's a lovely property in an excellent location, we give the experience a very high rating.
Lovely period house, well decorated and furnished within a minute of the beach and Deal's wide selection of quality bars and restaurants. Plenty of space and easy parking. Deal is a beautiful seaside town with marvellous views and a great buzz.
The cottage was superbly located within a stone's throw of the seafront. Although there is no allocated parking we found a car park just a minutes walk away.
The cottage is a little tired and the two living rooms were small. The staircases down to the kitchen and up to the first and second floors were very steep and narrow, a bit scary when carrying a baby or for the elderly.
The bed and linen were clean and comfortable, but the shower only managed to trickle out.
Deal is a nice little seaside town though.
Great house, good value for money. We had a wonderful stay, many thanks to Keepers Cottages for being flexible with the arrival plans. Would definitely stay in their properties again.
