Stayed in the guest house a few doors down from the pub. Breakfast (served in the pub) was huge. Staff were very friendly. Our room had lovely sea views, and was nicely furnished. Good location for visiting surrounding attractions

Beautifully located right on the sea front, in the middle of town this classic old pub is just right for a short break. The owners and staff are extremely friendly, the quality of the food is excellent; the rooms, whether in the main building or the annexe two doors along, are clean, tidy, and perfectly functional.
The same group have been coming back here for some seven years on a golf trip; and many of us have also been down here at other times with our better halves.

Our 2nd visit and love the location.Good breakfast too.....but dodgy tea!
Really great staff except for the rather crusty mature woman that we settled our bill with yesterday.
Would not want to meet her in a dark alley!

My recent visit was the Second time I have stayed at The Kings Head and I again stayed in a room above the pub, whilst on a lads golfing tour. The Pub is popular and rightly so, good atmosphere and range of beer and wines. Food is also good and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Accomodation is tired, but clean. Just dont stay in Room 2 as it is situated over looking the back of the pub. You get a rather noisey early morning wake up call as staff begin the day at 6.30 am & of course if the pub is rocking in the evening and you decide on an early night, it wont be a peaceful one. The guest house a few doors along is the best bet for a restful nights sleep. I have rated it very good, because of the pub and the staff. Accomodation would be average for this type of accomodation.

My husband and I had a lovely break this week in this friendly pub. Food was excellent and accommodation. Graham and Shirley were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. There was great live music on Wednesday with Jack who was a talented acoustic guitar player. He was very patient when a group of friendly Belgium Golfers turned up for a birthday bash. We rocked until late.
Graham and Shirley were very calm and made all customers feel very welcome.
I would recommend this pub to everyone.
Well done for an excellent service, we will be back.

This is a popular pub with a B&B adjacent. I liked the busy pub and the excellent location facing onto the seafront. Outside the buildings look very attractive but inside, my room was a bit tired. Furniture was B&Q style laminated chipboard. Curtains and carpet are a bit out of date without being exactly vintage. But it was clean and the staff were helpful and professional so I would stay here again. I would only go as far as recommending the place when it gets an interior makeover. It could be so much better.

Room Tip: Being in a room on the sea front was nice but if you were an early to bed person it could be noisy e...
