We came here on our last visit in July and said we would return. Sunday lunch was very good, I had a duck foie gras starter which was lovely, we both had the roast beef, very nice with loads of veg too plus the complimentary olives and bread something a lot of restaurants should do instead of sneaking them on your bill.
Staff were professional and efficient..we like :-)

We were a party of 6 people who had visited this establishment together on a previous occasion. Some of us have visited on several occasions in the past. However, on this evening the food was a let down. Two people chose a roast dinner as their main and both commented on how overcooked the ingredients were, to the extent that one couldn't cut into the Yorkshire pudding and both had to hack their way into the roast potatoes. The pudding and potatoes didn't taste freshly cooked. Instead of having a chipolata wrapped in bacon on her plate as an accompaniment to her dinner, she was put off by a full sized unappetising sausage wrapped in bacon. The guys who chose the Salmon, were given a very small portion and both roast meats were dry. The worst aspect of the evening was the managements failure to come to the table and ask why we were so disappointed. A complaint had been made and we were told by the waiter that he would tell the chef "later". We thought this would have been after the service finished but before we left. There were 2 chefs working that evening. We noticed the head chef in the restaurant having a break with a customer but he made no attempt to talk to us. Maybe he hadn't been informed by the waiter? Such an attitude towards customers is not acceptable.
Two people in our party had experienced an overcooked roast before commenting that they wouldn't select one again. It was a real shame as the décor is relaxing and pleasant and we enjoyed ourselves on the last visit. This time the head chef appears to have taken his eye off of the ball. The standards need to be improved, maybe that why the place had empty tables, it had been busy on previous occasions. Maybe we shouldn't have left the generous tip that we did. We wouldn't list this as one of our favourite places in which to eat based on this visit as we had on previous ones. Be cautious! Our next trip out will be one of the other local establishments.

Visited with friends, good atmosphere and meal was delicious. Service was good and staff friendly. Disappointed no cheese board on menu. Have visited before and apart from lack of cheese board will return in the future.

Have been to this restaurant in Deal many times. It has a lovely location on the opposite side of Beach Street from the beach. Food is always good and the service friendly. The seafront is just a few yards away for a long post-dinner walk!

Been to the ThreeCompasses previously and was impressed. Situated on Beach steet overlooking sea front. Good range of food. Went with some friends and an 8 year old. Staff offered to cook things not on menu if child did not like things but she opted for chicken stuffed with mushrooms and wrapped in ham. She loved it but would have been better if they could offer smaller children's portions. I had slow roast belly of pork which was fantastic, came with roast potatoes, on. Bed of red cabbage with muchy peas. Yum! The portions are big and not sure if you could get through 3 portions! Staff were polite, helpful and I would recommend this great eating place to anyone either living or visiting locally
