Just returned from a last minute booked dinner at The Dining Club - Asparagus menu. What a fantastic meal. Beautifully cooked food with superbly balanced flavours, it is incredible to get this standard of food in such tasteful surroundings for under £30 on a Friday night. And all of these 5 courses were delightful; asparagus being at the centre of every course except pudding, yet such different textures that it was not remotely 'samey'. The star anise sorbet was the eighth wonder of the world... what a taste sensation. Excellent calm and efficient service too. Fantastic meal, thank you.

The Dining Club is a huge asset in Deal. Scott is an imaginative chef with a real eye for interesting combinations of cuisines and flavours. The five course dinners are extraordinary value for money given the quality and variety of the experience. Our last of many visits over the whole time Scott has been in charge was one of the best and we are only looking forward to the next one. The Club is in a bijou house but one is not on top of other diners and the service is immaculate. One can take one;s own wine (corkage of a £ must be a bargain!) and match it to the food of the evening. Scott and Suzanne have travelled and it shows in their cooking of world dishes and the influence that has on some English and other European favourites. We cannot recommend the Dining Club highly enough and we have travelled and eaten in over 100 countries.

I have been using the restaurant for over 5 years now, since I moved to Deal. The owner makes a special point of welcoming my partner and I + friends, who often join us. The food is is a very good standard and excellent value for money.

You can't go wrong: £5 annual membership, approx £25 for a 5-course themed, set meal and £1 per head corkage. If you like good wine and hate paying the exorbitant mark-up in most restaurants, the Dining Club is the place to go.
The current owners have now been in charge for a couple of years. Andy & Ralph were great, real characters, great welcomes but I have to say, the food has got better.
The important point is : it is a club. You can't just turn up. You have to join and then make a reservation. It is always busy...

This was our first visit to the Dining Club and it will not be our last.

Interesting starter- fig roasted with balsamic - good roast lamb and different but nice vegetables.

Cheese avant - excellent all Kentish and then pudding - the only slightly disappointing bit - no cherry custard and therefore a bit dry. But we will return.

Thank John F
