Stayed for a couple of nights whilst visiting relatives in the area. Rooms were spotless and very quiet. The fact that there is no parking was not a problem as very easy to find a place very close. Would choose again.

We arrived to a very friendly welcome. Although the management were having problems with staff shortages due to sickness they still went out of their way to cook us an evening meal and as we were leaving for an early ferry we were given some bits to take with us. A thank you to Andy and John for their efforts in which appeared to be a difficult time.

I booked an apartment at the Five Bells just for one night to go to a celebration in Deal nearby.
When we arrived I was greeted by John and booking in was swift John was very welcoming and friendly.
The apartment was lovely very clean fresh paint set out on two floors.
The rooms were spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The bar/restaurant area were modern but retained the country inn feel. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. We did not have dinner as we were eating at the celebration we were attending but the menu looked excellent.
We had a very comfortable nights stay and in the morning we went to breakfast. There is a choice of the full English or continental. We chose the full English and - wow - probably the best breakfast we have had in any hotel. The produce they use is all fresh and sourced locally. Tony cooked this to perfection I can say without doubt that both Tony and John have created a lovely hotel.
If there was one criticism it would be parking not having a dedicated parking area is not ideal but - there are places to park outside the hotel so - not a major problem.
We will be staying there again on our next visit to the area. Thank you Tony and John for making us feel so welcome in your lovely establishment.

Stayed here in july had a lovely time.everything was clean and fresh and i loved all the fresh flowers. Staff were very nice. The only thing i would say is that i feel larger towels would be nice.
Had a wonderful meal and i know that if you had a problem all you would have to do is ask and it would have been dealt with.
Will visit again in the near future

Arrived on 7th July for a one night stay. Was greeted by friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Bed linen and towels were spotless and on-suite shower room clean. A new bistro menu was being compiled therefore there were only bar menu meals available but,the food was fine when it arrived. Breakfast was varied - plenty of choice and as much tea or coffee as you wanted. Will certainly use this venue again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the building are quieter

My sister and I spent two nights here last week while visiting family in the area and we really enjoyed our stay. The bed linen and towels were spotless and our twin room (room2) was nicely decorated. Tony and John made us very welcome and any requests we had were dealt with quickly. They explained at the beginning that no one would come into our room during our stay and that suited us, clean towels were left outside the door along with fresh supplies of tea, coffee etc. We ate in on the first night and my rump steak was delicious - one of the nicest I've had, I recommend the blue cheese sauce to go with it. We didn't need a meal on the second night but having enjoyed the cheeseboard so much the previous evening we had another with a very reasonably priced bottle of merlot - delicious. The restaurant area is very pretty with crisp white table linen and we were given complimentary bread, olives and dipping oils.

We will be back to stay at the Five Bells next summer.

Honestly we don't understand how is it possible that this place has good reviews at all and is ranked 4 out of 5! Rooms were so dirty that bathroom floor was oily. Sheets had dark spots. Outside the door we had a huge smelly bin trash and that resulted in lot of flies inside the room as well. When people moved upstairs it was like having a cattle horde on the head. People could see inside because shades were broken. But really the worst part was the feeling of uncleanliness and squalor. We didn't even try to have breakfast. We would have moved from that if we hadn't arrived in the evening.

Many Thanks for staying with us here, I find your comments some what innapropriate and is bordering on SLANDER, which is a serious matter, The bathroom floor was not oily as I inspect ALL rooms once housekeeping have finished, each floor is bleached EVERYDAY.

The Blinds in the room ARE NOT broken, and Venetian blinds are installed in every apartment allowing you to adjust the amount of light and visibility to the property.

Our bedding is FRESH everyday and we have a company that does ALL our laundry so I dont appreciate you stating there are marks all over it, people upstairs not a lot I can do about other guests.

Sadly there are flies around as we are in the middle of the Kent Countryside surrounded by Farmland,

OUR ROOMS ARE NOT HORRID NOR THAT OF SQUALOR, and Im suggesting before writing comments like this, of which this is your 1st since 2009, you are not leaving yourself open to court action, if you had a problem with your room, you should of highlighted it during your stay instead of making libelous comments on pages like this. which we as hotel have the right to reply.
