Just returned from a weekend with old school friends, this is my first visit but some of our group had been before. The place is lovely and clean, we had the run of the house and the atmosphere there was lovely. I would certainly book to go again.

We're a 30-strong ultimate frisbee team that needed a place for our annual training weekend away from the city. We were looking to crash, cook. eat, hang out as mates, and party well.

Rippledown was the perfect venue for us and we'll definitely be back.

It primarily caters for environment-school trips but was perfect for our needs. The (mainly) dorm style rooms are spacious, the lounges were big yet cosy, the industrial kitchen, double dining rooms, and hangout spaces similarly had everything we needed to support a great time. The schoolchildren-oriented décor only helped the fun, from the charming taxidermy animals to the trivia about British ecology, it all gave the venue that additional delightful feel.

Plus, the staff are fantastic. We were given the keys and left to our own ends for the weekend and they were incredibly supportive before and after the event. We were given recommendations for local sports fields and attractions and they even managed to find some lost keys and electronics for us too.

Top stuff all round.

Room tip: Not really a hotel. It's a group accommodation venue. But the Eyrie room is the best

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at Rippledown. We were a group of 8 adults (old school friends) who wanted a base for the weekend to chill out and catch up. Although Rippledown is an environmental centre for children, it also caters for adults too and it was certainly ideal for us.
The accommodation is clean, tidy, dormitory (hostel) style and has a good sized communal lounge area. It's quite basic but had everything we needed - including bath mats, tea towels, loo rolls and lots of other bits and pieces which were provided for us. There are 3 bathrooms/shower rooms.
The staff, Carol and Richard couldn't have been more helpful and were very welcoming to us.
We were also offered a basket weaving session on the Sunday which we jumped at and it turned out to be a brilliant session - learning a new skill and having a laugh at the same time.

The location is at Ringwould between Dover and Walmer and you do need a car to get around but it certainly didn't pose any problems to us.. We ate at The Zetland Arms in Kingsdown and had a takeaway from Saffron on the Dover Road towards Deal. Would recommend both very happily.
Thank you Rippledown...we're certainly booking again!
