“Excellent room”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town. The public car park is directly behind the pub in Leslie Smith Drive and costs £4 per day. Room 6 was large and comfortable, with nice extra touches such as dental and shaving kits and a sewing repair pack. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent, especially their steak and ale pie which was the best I've tasted.

We were welcomed very warmly by the bar staff on our arrival and shown to our room, which was lovely. The bed was huge and really comfortable, and we appreciated the little extra touches including a complimentary toothbrush set and sewing kit. The location is great, right in the centre of Faversham and we only stayed one night, so the parking wasn't a problem - not sure what you do if you need to stay longer as the long stay carpark has a limit of 12 hours.
We didn't eat at the pub in the evening as they don't serve food on Sunday evening, but the breakfast in the morning was great. Freshly cooked and a good selection of cereals etc. Overall we were really pleased.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Faversham. Lovely characterful hotel, good sized room and all the little extra's that make the difference. Breakfast was superb. Only (small) complaint would be that my husband stuck a good 6-8" over the end of the bed - but then he is 6'6" and it was a standard bed!

This was our first time at the Sun Inn and we hope that it will not be the last. Our room (number 3) was large and well-appointed, with plenty of natural light. The bathroom was also large and newly-decorated. There was some noise from the street but not enough to disturb our sleep. The breakfast was splendid, with an excellent choice of hot dishes.

Room Tip: Room 3 is large and comfortable. It's at the front of the building, so it might be noisy at the...

The Sun Inn is a very attractive historic building right in the middle of town .

Downstairs, its a lively and pleasant old pub , serving good food , with log fires and all. The accommodation upstairs is clean and comfortable , with sensitive modernisation of the old building .

There is no dedicated parking . You have to pay for parking at one of the two public car parks nearby , but its not too much of an inconvenience

Room Tip: We stayed room 5 at front of building : no problems

Not that I was expecting a dive. But it's an old building, with low ceilings upstairs, and this can sometimes make a place feel a bit cramped. Not this one. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The little extras (husband forgot his toothbrush - there was one on the side in a little complimentary pack) were great. Oh, and the welcome from the manager was warm. Breakfast was perfectly cooked, and there was plenty of choice.
The pub itself is pleasant, quite big, with an attractive-looking menu and some good Shepherd Neame beers. Yes, you do get a bit of noise from the pub in your room, but I think that's to be expected, and was not excessive in my opinion.
The pub is located centrally in Faversham - everything is in walking distance.
We paid £90 for a double via Expedia. Would strongly recommend and would stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: We had room 3. It is one of the ones that's featured on their website and was lovely. It looks...

Located in the centre of Faversham, an ancient, but modified building dating back 400 years. We were allocated to room 9, not large but adequate. The amenity package was exceptional and consisted of no less that 14 items. Usual beverage tray, but no bottled water. The tap water was confirmed as potable. Heating superb....had to turn radiator to low.
The breakfast was one best we have enjoyed at a B&B in recent years, with variety better than many hotels. The Landlord served us with enthusiasm.
Busy bar, with excellent selection of Shepherd Neame beers.
Make sure that you book a table for dinner!. We were turned away as they were very busy, until they realised we were residents.

An enjoyable stay.....recommended.

Room Tip: Following other reports, I saw that we were allocated to room 2, and told the landlord I did not wan...
