Three Chimneys Farm
Reviewed 4 August 2013

We arrived at this BB early evening, not knowing what to expect, as it was booked on our behalf for just a one night stay. It's was a lovely surprise on arrival to be staying in such a beautiful place. After a very warm welcom we were shown to our room and the bathroom, they were perfect, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. ( sotfess carpet I've ever felt, in the bedrooms )
We arranged a time to suit us for breakfast, and was informed of the closest village and village shops/pubs.
After a very comfortable nights sleep, we were able to make ourselves a cup of tea, take a shower before being served a beautiful full English breakfast, along with a choice of cereal, toast, jam and marmalade and a fresh pot of tea or coffee.
All in all this place is a little Gem, from reading other reviews, I think there is plenty more on offer, but for us it's was a flying visit.
Defiantly a place I would return to and recommend to others.
I have rated the location as average as it is too far to walk back from the village, of an evening and taxis have to be pre-booked. Other than the distance, the location is beautiful.

Ideal location for travelling around Kent, set well back from the main road to allow you to only hear the sound of birds. We found our stay to be extremely relaxing. Perfect if you love nature as all you can see is green fields, horses, sheep and a lone chicken! Room was cosy and homely and we were made very welcome. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning!

Jane looked after us really well for our first day in the UK. Gouldhurst is in easy reach of London and Heathrow if you have a car, and the farm is a tranquil oasis with lots of wildlife, local attractions and a great pub. We had the whole B& B annex to ourselves with fridge, great selection of teas and Jane cooked us a delicious breakfast. There were squirrels on the lawn outside and lots of flowers around the doorway. We saw pheasants on the lane way on the way in.

we stayed for only one night as we were at a wedding in Marden (close by). We were in the Iron Latch Suite for B&B and the room was lovely, clean and quiet. The location is beautiful and peaceful. Marion was the consumate host and breakfast was lovely and cooked to order based upon when we wanted it. Marion was lovely to chat to and we would love to return at some point in the future.

We wanted somewhere for a quiet weekend getaway, and the three chimneys certainly did not disappoint! Excellent accommodation in a lovely secluded rural setting, with great villages and pubs nearby. Would highly recommend.

Stayed in IRONLATCH room in October 2011. Unique location - converted oust houses - scenic drive into property - great room and large ensuite. Goudhurst has nice pubs to enjoy for dinner. Lovely drives around the area.

If you are reading this review then you are presumably considering a vacation in the south of england, in which case you simply must consider Three Chimneys Farm.

We have just returned from our third visit (2007/2009/2011) with our two boys aged 9 and 7 (and who were 5 and 3 on our first visit), and we will certainly be going back again.

So, why choose Three Chimneys Farm?:

1. location - at the end of a mile track from the public road and with fantastic views over the surrounding fields and Bedgbury Forest, Three Chimneys is an undisturbed oasis of calm, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

2. accommodation - we are usually happy if we find a comfortable holiday property with character, and Three Chimneys certainly ticks our boxes - and more! The properties (and we have stayed in 3 different properties - Sheepwash, Chalybeate and Spoonlets) are all very spacious and comfortable, with everything you could wish for, including the to-die-for first floor deck/balcony at Spoonlets! You will also find well-stocked bookshelves, some DVDs to watch and other nice little touches. And what could have more character than staying on a real farm with real Kentish oast houses?!

3. facilities - what really makes Three Chimneys special for us is that it isn't just a comfortable base to explore the area, it's a destination in its own right. Relaxing on the farm, enjoying the horses, playing tennis, basketball and badminton - and how often do most of us get the chance to try our hand at croquet?!! On our previous visit we even had a woodpecker visiting the bird feeder outside the kitchen window every morning!
We now have to schedule plenty of 'farm time' into our itinerary!

4. Marion & Graham - Three Chimneys is run by really lovely people who are always keen to make the holiday experience special and who also deal very efficiently with booking enquiries through their website/email.

We would unhesitatingly recommend Three Chimneys Farm to anyone. And if you do decide to visit, make sure to visit:

- Bedgbury Pinetum (virtually next door) - for a pleasant walk around their beautiful collection of trees and/or to hire bikes and go exploring the forest.

- Bodiam Castle - the ultimate chocolate box castle is less than half an hour's drive away.

Other places we enjoy visiting in the area include Hastings, Battle Abbey, the Hundred Acre Wood - or, a little further afield, Dungeness (via Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch miniature railway) or France-for-the-day (via Dover-Calais).

Enjoy!
