“Family fun in the forest!”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

This was our first visit and wow what a beautiful place! Kids loved hiding and climbing the trees and den building. Plenty of places to have a picnic. Loved the adventure play areas, especially as they were dotted about so it meant when the kids were fed up we could move on to a different one! We will visit again and will no doubt bring the kids bikes. It cost us £9.50 to park for the day and we consider that be excellent value for a full family day out.

“Fun in the forest”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

Excellent for family day out. Reasonably priced you can just pay for the car, but you can also hire bikes. Lots of diffrent trails to follow, plenty of picnic seats and areas to have a packed lunch.
On the family trail lots of childrens play areas. Cafe & toilets. Dogs allowed on a lead (although there were a lot off their leads).

“Fun looking for the Gruffalo”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

Have been here loads of times, but first time since the new Gruffalo trail added.

It now costs £9.50 to park your car.

We did the Gruffalo trail and after a couple of attempts we found the Gruffalo .... Missed a sign and had to retrace our footsteps!! Lovely walk in beautiful surroundings. Walk just the right length for my kids.

Finished the afternoon up at the big sandpit having a lovely ice cream.

Only went for a few hours .... Now I know the car park price has gone up I would plan a longer day out with a picnic.

“Beautiful and definitely worth a visit....but on a dry day!”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

Stunning location and scenery. Woodland walks past lakes and ponds. Beautiful and interesting trees and plants, rhododendrons and azaleas. Hilly in places and difficult for the elderly and infirm.
Great for kids - several quirky play areas within the woods - places to build dens.

Huge play areas and separate Go Ape play area - charged independently.

Ideal for picnics - but beware of the many cyclists who use the various trails - often at high speed!
