“Not great! ”
Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

We were staying at the Premier Inn opposite so tried it out for dinner the night we arrived. Service was very friendly but slow and food was only ok and not particularly hot. For ease we went there again the following night and wished we hadn't. It wasn't very busy and started off well with speedy order taking and drink arrival. Went rapidly downhill from there as the place got busier and our waiter seemed to be covering the whole restaurant. We sent back one meal as it wasn't very nice but no offer of a replacement or alternative and had to request a complimentary dessert. We also had issues with another dessert that had pieces of some apple core in it. By this point we'd had enough as we'd been there for nearly 2 hours and hadn't had a satisfactory meal. Thankfully we got a significant discount but certainly wouldn't recommend.

We'd paid for breakfast for the 4 nights we were there so had no alternative but to go there. Again service was friendly but slow. They seem chronically understaffed and food takes an age to come out of the kitchen. You had to allow an hour if you wanted to have a cooked breakfast.

We were staying at the Premier Inn to visit family nearby but the quality of this restaurant means we will look to stay somewhere else in future.

“Never Again!!”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

This place is a shambles, from the waitresses through to the management team. Have been to many table table restaurants before and had very good experiences apart from this one. Politeness finished after the waitress sat us down and from then on down hill. They had no real ales on tap which was a surprise as there was a big sign saying how good they were, such a shame. The food took ages to arrive and was luke warm and pardon me for asking to see the manager, I’m sure she was on drugs as she didn’t have a care in the world and her reactions to a customer complaining were unbelievable. Never again , Choose ‘The harvester’ over the road much better food and service.

“Dinner good, breakfast not so”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

As we were at the Premier Inn, we decided to dine here again. One can have a drink and not have to drive again. The dinners we had were very good quality wise. The service could not be friendlier and Megan, the new assistant manager certainly tries her best to give it all a good go. BUT....
breakfast can be a disaster. There is by far not enough staff on, the orders take ages to be taken and served ( we nearly missed our ferry back home because breakfast took us 1 hour!), the bar is half empty at times and not filled up very swiftly,... Something should be done asap or the clientele of the hotel will start staying away because of the slow service at breakfast. People mostly cannot afford to loose time in the morning. Get your act together, people!!!

“Poor Service”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

Having just had a meal at this restaurant what can we say arrived and sat down to a pre-booked table at the correct time. The staff took 15 minutes to come and see if we wanted a drink. took another 20 minutes to serve the drinks and then took the orders for the meal.

Then took another 30 minutes to serve the starters and another whole hour to serve the main course in both cases not all at the same time so by the time the last person received there starter the first had finished.

The presentation of the starters was that of a soup kitchen serving up sloop. The main course was served warm and in all cases average quality. We shall not eat there again and if you have not got at least three hours to eat a two course meal do not go there. Very poor service.
