went to this resturant at the weekend as we had not been in since we arrived in Herne Bay in 200 (a hideous experience - but they had a major refurb a few years back) and fancied a curry.
The decor is terribly over stylised - purple walls, tardis like water feature, strange neo modern pictures on the wall, but thats not why we go. The food - well, we went because they do have a huge fish menu so thought we would try. It was ok - not amazing by any stretch of the imagination. The onion bhajis were very good, the fish balls interesting and the pappadoms came with 2 trays of chutneys, not all of the great and in a variety of lurid colours (quite expensive to as they charge each person for chutneys)
The main dishes were very salty, I had mackerel bhaji, very nice, if a little lacking in flavor and OH had the fish mix - again a little bland, no heat and a BRIGHT red color - nan bread was good, and rice was, well, rice!
all in all, because you pay for each thing seperatley, (rice, bread, papadoms, expensive chutney) the meal came to about £50 - not the cheap popping out for an indian we had in mind! I would rather have gone to Petit Poission where everything is included in the price, had a nice bottle of wine (3 pints =£11 versus nice bottle of wine £13....) and spent the same amount.
Not the best indian, not even the best indian in herne bay dsadly - but better than it was in 2000!!!
