We stumbled upon this fish & chip shop which is situated beside a huge fish and chip shop which looks cheap to be frank so we weren't really expecting much, however, this shop looked better from the outside and we noticed they had seating upstairs so, being hungry, we decided to give it a go.
When we got inside, it was a pleasant surprise! The decor has obviously been done by someone with taste. It's almost bizarre going into a fish & chip shop and finding such a beautiful and stylish interior with chandeliers and diamontes everywhere!!
We sat down, it was a bank holiday Monday, but we were seen quickly by a pleasant young girl waitress. We ordered and the food and drink were on the table in around 10 minutes.
The fish was beautiful, real cod as oppose to the rubbish generic white fish you get in most places, the batter was light and almost like tempura and the chips were crispy and light. They had mushy peas and tartar sauce in little pots and whilst it IS a fish and chip place, the whole experience was very pleasant.
It's not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination but they have gone the extra mile in making it a stylish environment to chow down on a lovely seaside treat!
