Decided to check this place out and we were not disappointed, the staff were attentive and friendly and checked we were ok with our food. We shared calamari to start which came super quick fresh out of the fryer, crispy and tasty. We each had a burger and were happy with our choices. Crispy chips and decent wine.

You will not be disappointed booking a table here. A wise person would book ahead as this place gets busy. The exterior of the place does let it down, but step inside for perfection. The staff are welcoming and lead you to your table. Ours was in the basement, which was rustic, but clean and tidy. A very good selection of reasonably priced wine, and other drinks. The menu was varied, and although steered towards meat eaters, there was vegetarian options. My partner and I didn't have starters, but they looked good. I ordered the pork tenderloin, mash and veg. And it was so soft and tender, I really didn't want the meal to end. I wish there was a rewind button on the plate. My partner had the rib- eye steak, triple cooked chips, onion rings and tomato. Beware folks, the chips are volcanically hot. He enjoyed his as much as I did mine. Although, he did say that he could have done with another tomato or some sort of sauce on the side. But this is only a minor criticism. The steak was nearly as good as a steak he last ate in NYC, at the Gotham Bar and Grill. We couldn't manage pudding. The staff were attentive. We had a fabulous meal, and would recommend you go. We will be back, and maybe go for a pud this time.

Our first visit to the restaurant and we were disappointed.

We were told to sit where we wanted but we're not advised that there were tables available downstairs (unlike subsequent customers). As such we chose a table away from the door as it was cold.

We ordered the burgers which were well seasoned and good; however not everyone wants chunky chips and it would be nice to have had the option of skinny fries.

For us the major disappointment was being able to hear the chef's constant loud comments to kitchen staff including swearing; this really put us off returning.

We visited last night and overall was a lovely meal, staff were very friendly and helpful.
Although at 10pm it was clear the staff wanted to go home as they asked if they could settle our bill so they could cash up and when we went to pay all the staff were sitting in the bar having a drink waiting to go home.

The food was mostly good, the best steak I've ever eaten. However prawns, onion rings and calamari far too much batter and greasy.
Brushetta was on very lightly toasted sliced bread which I've never had before and didn't taste right.
Ice cream for dessert was delicious.
Overall a nice evening but at £100 for 2 of us i think is overpriced for what we got.
