We booked this hotel because it was in the Accor group and because it accepted pets. At the moment it has the feel of an old fashioned seaside hotel but it is, I believe, about to undergo a much needed substantial refurbishment, which hopefully will bring it into the 21st century. However our room was light, spacious and quite well furnished and we had a superb view of the Channel. The room was south facing though and prone to get very hot during the day. It would benefit from air conditioning, therefore.
The only meal we had in the restaurant was breakfast. It appeared to be understaffed and disorganised. No-one came to take our order and I had to ask for coffee and toast and to point out that there were no eggs on the buffet.
We were travelling with a dog but no-one seemed to know where he was allowed. I asked one member of staff if he could go in the bar. She did not know. Later, after ordering and paying for drinks I was told quite forcibly by another member of staff he was not allowed in the bar.
This hotel has a lot going for it. It is in a superb position and has a lot of facilities but at the moment it is very old fashioned. Its staff also need a lesson in organisation and good manners.More
