Beach well maintained and very family friendly.
Surrounding areas wheelchair accessible, but beware of the hilly bits in town!
Easily found Blue Badge Parking ( see other reviews for cheap supermarket parking)

Town centre has range of outlets but also many vacant units awaiting re development
If you need more retail therapy - try out of town centre on road to Ramsgate.

Firstly find Morrison's Supermarket and park on the lower floor where it costs £2.70 to stay for 12hrs. The beach is good and clean with a boating pool as well. The beach has lifeguard cover and a Safe Bathing Area patrolled between the hours of 10am - 6pm from May to Sept. The Seafront offers the usual Fish & Chips and Ice Creams which were very nice and reasonably priced. On the front is the old Dreamland Fun Park which used to have rides and attractions plus a cinema and other facilities. This area is now in its first stages of restoration with a small area currently open stocked with Pinball Machine Arcade Games from long ago. You can purchase tokens to have a go on these if you wish. There is no charge to visit and there are people on hand to answer questions about the plans for the future. At present it is hoped to improve the Fun Park substantially by the end of 2015. The town itself has the usual shops but to my mind has a slightly grubby feel to it. If it is sunny then I suggest you stick to the beach. Overall worth a visit but come on Margate a coat of paint would make all the difference to this resort.

Perfect place to hang out and enjoy the nice weather when we have it :) Lovely cafe near by, arcades and the boating pool is beautiful too.

As a family we absolutely love Margate beach, it's a lovely family orientated place with a chilled atmosphere. You can get your fish and chips at Peters opposite the beach and cross the road and enjoy the view. The beach is cleaned daily but beware that glass does wash up so mind your feet. The harbour arm has some lovely restaurants and it's a great place to eat and enjoy the sun. As your right in the heart of the town the shops and parking are easily found. The old quarter is fab and many shops delightful. Also you have the Turner Gallery if that is your thing. There's is also a great cycle path if your feeling sporty.
