“"Wishing" we were still there.”

Our family of six (four older kids 14-26) stayed at The Wishing Towers while visiting our family in England. Owner, Suzy, could not have been sweeter and gave us a tour of the gorgeous space upon arrival. To agree with a previous review—the photos posted here truly do not do it justice. As a creative person (graphic designer), it was instantly clear to me the interior had been professionally designed with many layers of color, texture, and unique pieces. To my family’s chagrin, I spent our final day taking photos of light fixtures, end tables, wall art, mirrors, woodwork, plant pots, and lamps. The rooftop garden and upstairs bedrooms were magical. Our oldest daughter claimed the bedroom with 180 view of the sea for herself—she looked and felt like a princess in a [Wishing] tower. Although it may have been a little small for our needs (siblings refused to share a bed and with 5 women there were fights for the single bathroom); my daughters want to return next year but “only if we can stay here,” i.e., The Wishing Towers. The only bummer for us was the tiny fridge with lack of a freezer. I’m sure other renters stay for short periods and don’t have much use for one. But, us fat Americans like our ice cream and, well,…. ice! LOL. It also made it a bit challenging for the day we invited family over to entertain. Everything else we could have possibly needed was there—including a little espresso machine which we enjoyed each morning with our toasted crumpets.

We loved the Palm Bay Cafe across the street—best ice cream (Kelly’s from Cornwall) we’ve ever had. Americans take note—places close earlier than we are used to. We’d walk to the cafe and find it had already closed (as early as 4 pm) and most of the shops (even in London) close at 5. We were within walking distance of Tesco’s grocery (open till 10 most days) and other charming, adorable places. Old Town Margate was one our favorite stops—vintage shops and streets straight out of a Harry Potter book.

Many thanks for your review - I'm so pleased you had a great time - now the apartment is empty we can ge ready for the new rentals and correct all of the lighting issues. There is actually a small key by the key rack in the kitchen for the window locks but will get more cut for the upstairs.
Thank you again.

I'm so sorry for your experience at The Wishing Towers. It is rare that we have a review like this. I do live in the property and it is my home so apologies if this was not suitable for you. It is rare that screaming cars drive up and down all night long - an unlucky night it seems. I have taken note of your comment on the stairs lighting and will get this rectified. Many thanks for your comments they are always helpful

“A beautifully furnished and decorated apartment in a great location.”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We had a fantastic week at The Wishing Towers. The apartment is beautifully laid out and very clean. The bedrooms are very comfortable with amazing views from the upstairs rooms. The terrace is a great outdoor space for barbecues and to enjoy the sunset. The location is great - 100 yard walk to the coast is a must as the sun goes down as the sunsets are stunning and with easy access to Margate and a short drive to Broadstairs. Many thanks, Suzy, for a great week.

“Beautiful, spacious, tastefully furnished apartment with magnifenct sea views, close to sandy beaches and cliff walks.”
Reviewed 28 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

The Wishing Towers is a cut above most holiday rentals. It is a beautifully furnished, spacious 3-bed apartment with a stunning roof terrace that has magnificent sea views. It is located between Broadstairs and Margate in Kent within reach of some truly gorgeous sandy beaches. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 3 children under 10 and we had a perfect time.

The apartment felt like 'home' for the week we were there - more than just a place to rest our heads after a busy day out. The closest beach is no more than a few hundred yards away with a selection of beaches, both the busy public kind and smaller tucked away coves, a short drive from the Wishing Towers.

This was my first ever holiday along this coastline and I would go back in a heartbeat, especially if I could stay at the Wishing Towers again.

“Perfect apartment within walking distance of Margate and right on the Viking trail”
Reviewed 7 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We had a really enjoyable 5 nights in this high quality apartment, it was very clean, light and spacious, with a lovely roof terrace. The location was great for us, it's about a 20 minute walk into Margate to the Old Town and beach etc, so it's far enough away to avoid the noise and traffic of a seaside town, but near enough to very easily to get to, and it's right on the Viking trail, the cycle path that goes all round the Thanet coast. It was no problem for a short stay, but worth mentioning is there is no dishwasher or washing machine. We loved this apartment and would highly recommend. With thanks to Suzy the owner.
