The staff working there are very friendly, helpful and polite.
The rooms are very clean and presentable.
Good value for money.

Only downside was the nighttime noise of the yobs in the street. No fault of the hotel though.

My friend and I had separate rooms both just renovated - modern bedroom décor and en-suite; scrupulously clean.. Staff courteous and helpful. Breakfast hearty. And they returned lost Ipad. Very good budget hotel.

I think we have to get things into perspective here, This hotel is offering a value for money room. I recently stayed here and found the place clean and tidy and the staff friendly and helpful. I must admit it is looking a bit tired and could do with modernizing, but its not that bad and I stay in hotels regularly. If like me,for example you were visiting the `winter gardens` and wanted to stay somewhere nearby instead of driving home then this hotel is nearby and inexpensive and probably fits the bill.
If however you were looking for a quality hotel for a romantic weekend with your nearest and dearest and were going to spend a lot of time in the hotel itself then you would probably want to look elsewhere, especially as this place is in an area of Margate that is slowly being redeveloped but has been historically rundown.
If it was as bad as some of the reviews would have you believe then I don`t think it would still be open and there were quite a lot people staying there when I was there. So if you think more `old fashioned B & B` rather than `premier inn` and you wont be far off!! Hope this helps!!

Room Tip: Shop around! If its cheap enough then have it, but remember the Premier inn costs about £90 a night...

Myself and my husband stayed here for a weekend away, would not stay here again...The staff are very polite, but the night porter who is about 70 was a bit weird and took ages to let us in, they lock the doors about 9.30-10pm so you have to ring for the night porter who sleeps in the back room and takes ages to wake and let you in..The rooms are very dated, the loo makes weird noise's, the water from the basin hardly comes out, the shower is just warm enough, wont go any hotter tho..the beds are very uncomfortable. There's a weird smell all over the hotel..The breakfast is awful, bacon doesnt taste like bacon, sausages well lets not go there..Tea, coffee was nasttyyyy...The area is an area you wouldn't want to walk around in day or night...Sorry Glenwood but you need sort this hotel out...

even if I was desperate I would never stay here again...I would rather sleep in my car. The property is full of displaced youths. every door in the hotel has been kicked in and I spent most of the night checking out of the window to make sure my car wasn't on bricks.

Room Tip: sleep in a room at a different hotel...really...I am not kidding.

Some of the bad reports posted must be fictitious. Just spent an excellent 3 days over the Easter weekend at the Glenwood.
The hotel is clean, and even doing a "Hotel Inspector" test for dust in the most unlikely places, could find nothing
The owner and staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming. The small bar was open and other guests with the bar staff provided excellent conversation
Breakfast provided juice, fresh and tinned fruit and a selection of cereals. The usual selection of cooked breakfasts was available and prepared to order.
The hotel is just off the main road into town, 25/30 mins stroll, or the bus stop is 2 minutes away. A 1 minute walk will take you to the promenade at Cliftonville.
At my off-season price of £25.00 per night B&B the value was superb
Prices will be higher later in the season but I'm convinced will provide extraordinary value for money.
Decor is dated but it's a budget hotel not the Ritz. I was very happy and strongly recommend
I will almost certainly return to the hotel later in the year.

My first impressions where fine the room was massive and clean with 2 single beds (traveled solo) shower clean and hot basically the room was perfect, could do with a bigger tv tho... The staff are all very friendly.. Now.. Margate... I would never ever ever visit that place again what a poophole rundown shops boarded up houses ...Offered drugs in 2 pubs and everybody looks gaunt ... I think I spoke to 1 person with a job who doesnt work in the catering or hotel trade everybody is on benefits ... scary scary place ... I would only go back if I had to visit broadstairs and there was no room availible down there.. I booked a 2 day break and i spent day 1 in broadstairs and i got a train to canturbury £5 rtn on day 2 .........Canturbury is AMAZING ... if you want a break anywhere in the UK .. thats my fav choice for style culture and history .....
