Owner description: Turner Contemporary is a pioneering visual arts organisation using our namesake’s spirit of radical enquiry to activate art and people, in our galleries and beyond. Located in an elegant purpose-built gallery, designed by David Chipperfield Architects, the gallery looks out on the very views that JMW Turner immortalised in many of his key works. Turner Contemporary presents a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions, events and learning opportunities which make intriguing links between historic and contemporary art. The gallery offers a space for everyone to discover different ways of seeing, thinking and learning.

A chilly November day, where else to go?
Warm and spacious with a quality gift shop in the reception area.
Light open spaces, reminding me of Hepworth, Wakefield.
The Turner, Constable etc exhibition is well laid out, although I felt the presentation and labelling was skimped. Could do with more explanatory hand outs.
Nevertheless, plenty of space in which to view the works of a wide range of artists. Pity it is running concurrently with the Turner exhibition in the NMM.
Nice restaurant with interesting menu, good quality and lovely ambience. Great sea views too!
Loved it, must go back.

A cold and blustery day outside but a lovely calm haven inside. Great exhibitions welcoming staff lots to see and do. Activity room for the kids and some great work on display. The restaurant had great food and a brilliant kids menu but no high chairs :( my only criticism of an otherwise lovely afternoon.

After visiting the gallery, found some exhibits, very interesting , all according to taste. Decided to have a coffee & something to eat. There was a bit of a Que, seeing there was one person, doing the coffees & taking orders for lunch, it takes some time. All food item are locally sourced. A very interesting menu, home made soup, with rustic bread was very popular. The delivery of the food, wasn't to slow, well presented & very wholesome & tasty.
.
Will return again, views of the Harbour, adds to it. I felt that , it's a bit pricey

I saw an exhibit of landscape paintings by Turner, Constable and their contemporaries which was excellent. The multimedia installation by Dorothy Cross was amazing, and the huge contrast between the two exhibits was wonderful.

Its very lovely, quite small but packed with interest. Beautifully laid out with a lovely cafe and small shop. Will go back often when we fancy a drive out to the coast......Will keep an eye on the website for new exhibitions.....carry on the good work.
