Extremely rude owner and an overpriced menu. Very unpleasant experience in an otherwise beautiful pub.
We were sat in a small courtyard surrounded by flint walls with over head heating.
They offered a range of childrens and adult drinks. The green hop ale Oast Dodger was exceptionally good.
We all had roast lunches. The crackling on the roast shoulder of pork was particularly good. We all also loved their crispy roast potatoes and perfectly cooked cabbage. The vegetarian nut roast was also good.
Our only critiism was that they do not offer coffee. I think that they are missing a trick here. A really good cup of coffee would have crowned a perfect lunch.
This was the second day time we have called here for a drink. The staff are really polite and cheerful and the outside and inside are both comfortable places to sit and have a drink.
We will be back again.
Would highly recommend. Went there with two young kids and dog. Staff very helpful and food tasty. Nicely refurbished.
Excellent drinks available here. Enthusiastic staff, pub looks brilliant after the refurb. Lots of outside seating. Only stayed for a couple but will definitely be returning with friends soon.
Total makeover! Its no longer your local, stinky drinking hole but the place been transformed to a stylish, trendy pub! No more old carpets and dusty bottles.
New landlord put some big bucks in it and now it is a place where you want to take your parents for an afternoon drink on a sunny day. We have “discovered it” on one of our walks.
Darker exterior definitely stands out between tired buildings :) if you see before and after pics you wont believe this is the same place.
