“Reliable and Welcoming at Premier Inn Margate”
Reviewed 20 August 2012

It does always surprise me that every time I stay at the Premier Inn in Margate, it seems to get better.

The rooms have been updated and the Hotel and Breakfast Staff are all very welcoming, extremely efficient, and friendly without giving the impression they are reading from a script.

The rooms which now have terrific flat screen TVs, are spacious and spotlessly clean.

This is a great hotel for Families as it is located within a stone's throw of Margate Station although I have never heard a train. It is also directly across the road from the beach.

Breakfasts are brilliant and the staff terrific. I did recently try the Brewers Fayre for Dinner - er lets just say the Breakfasts are brilliant.

Room Tip: Sea view is best

this is a great hotel to stay at the rooms are clean with ensuite we booked a family room which had a double and 2 single beds. location is just across the road from the beach.the staff are freindly and all ways ready to help.
the brewers fayre restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price. But stay away from thursdays curry night the food is not very good, tastes like some thing out of a jar.
the area around the hotel is a bit run down over shadowed by an imposing tower block. this not fault of the hotel chain.

The location of this hotel was very good, it's a few minutes walk from the sea front. The check in was ok but every other time we have stayed in a premier inn we have been asked if we would like a newspaper in the morning but this time we were not asked and even though we did ask and pay for one it didn't arrive the next morning
The rooms are clean BUT UNBELIEVABLY HOT! the weather wasn't even that warm outside there was a fan in the room but it didn't really make a lot of difference and having it on all night kept my children awake until very late.
We were not impressed by the brewers fayre restaurant attached to this hotel. The food was average/poor and after being told that we had to wait 20 minutes before we got any food the manager came up to us and said that there would be a delay with the prawn cocktail because they had run out of salad! Even though my partner said ok can I change to the chicken goujons then we still had another 15 minute wait and they food was chucked on a plate with no garnish just 4 chicken goujons! Another long wait for dessert and it was nearly 7.40 when we finished eating we arrived at the restaurant at 5.30 not great for our young children.
breakfast was ok very friendly service but unlike when we stayed at other premier inns where they had a beefeater restaurant our tables weren't cleared very quickly.

Room Tip: don't bother with the restaurant!

Stayed for a long weekend and found it to be comfortable, clean and modern. Staff were helpful and the onsight pub ( Brewers Fayre) was good. Great breakfast and well priced meals. Would use again if coming to Margate.

We were pleased with the price, comfort and cleanliness. We would certainly stay there again. We arrived early and they were able to accomodate us by getting into one of our two rooms two hours early.

We arrived at the Premier Inn at 7.00am 19th July, thought I'd be cheeky and ask if our room was ready but sadly no. All effort was made to have it ready as quickly as possible.
We went to breakfast were the girl on shift couldn't help us enough, and I must say what an amazing breakfast.
Every morning the same girl met us with a friendly smile helping us in anything we asked her for.
The rooms were very clean and comftable.
We were down for a family wedding so my sister her husband and two children were in the Premier Inn also.
The only disappointment was the children's play area, the girl on shift the Friday 19th July didn't seem to be bothered, when I turned round to ask if she could have a word with some of the older children in the play area who was intimidating the younger children she was no where to be seen. When she did arrive back she just sat not sure what she was doing but she wasn't interested in what was happening around her.

Overall our stay was brilliant and would go back

Ive stayed at this hotel on a few occasions as it is only a few miles from our office in Ramsgate (see review on Ramsgate Prem Inn) only on one occasion was I disappointed but to staff credit they put this right after speaking to reception it is situated in a great location on the sea front obviously chef has changed has food standard has improved immensely, staff are really helpful rooms are good views from sea view rooms excellent and would certainly cost if privately run hotel that's for sure between this Premier Inn and Ramsgate there is a massive difference between overall standards.
