We had a sea view from our room which was lovely. The people who worked in the hotel were lovely and the hotel is very central on the seafront and had parking which was useful!
Walk along the seafront to the harbour for a great breakfast

So we're just back from a long Easter break at the Premiere Inn Margate, and I have to say overall we had a good stay. Let's see.
Starting from check-in (with the nice lady with the Captain America fixation) the staff were helpful and pleasant throughout. We're not 'needy' guests, however anything we did need was handled quickly and without complaint.

The room was a little bit poor. There was a pronounced smell of damp, the bed was less than great and the shower a little weak, however all of these things combined still were not a deal-breaker. You're getting what you pay for, I guess. The room was otherwise clean and well maintained, and the TV worked well. There was some noise from the other guests (well, their kids) up and down the corridors but nothing that went on into the night. Nothing which interrupted our sleep, either.
(Note that this hotel is bang on top of the railway line, but our room was on the other side so I can't comment on noise from the trains.)

Here, I have to say, we come to the big let-down. I haven't scored the place too badly on this, as it's technically a different business, but the attached Brewers Fayre was bloody useless. Yes, there's a soft-play for the kids (which was quite good) and an outdoor play area, but I'm here primarily to eat.

Breakfast was an all-you-can-eat buffet, and dinner was a 40 minute wait or, again, a buffet.

Sorry, Did I say "buffet"? I meant "poorly organised free-for-all the likes of which hasn't been visited upon the unfortunate tourist since the bad old days of Benidorm in the early 90's"

The breakfast buffet was regularly out of many items for long periods, with long queues ensuring that when the items arrive they instantly run out again, and people stocking up like there was a famine on the way. The food was invariably over-cooked (except, weirdly, the fried eggs!) with hot-lights ensuring that anything which did remain available quickly became so dry as to be almost inedible. On a couple of occasions we just bailed and went elsewhere (there's plenty of choice just up the road in the main town).
Faced with a 40 minute wait for dinner we again chanced the buffet. This was the same, only this time with a rude, angry "chef" who greeted any questions about the lack of food either with a complaint of his own ("we've only got 4 fryers!") or plain rudeness ("why can't you just be patient?!"). Sorry Mr Chef, I'll just take my money somewhere else thanks. Again there are plenty of options nearby - there's a very good Indian (sit-in - 'The Ali Raj') and Chinese (takeaway - 'Yummy Yummy') 2 minutes up the road.

In their defence - on the last morning breakfast was "to order", and was both quick and excellent, so I guess if given a run-up and plenty of elbow room the kitchen can actually knock out decent food. Shame, really.

Overall a decent stay blighted by poor dining. The takeaway here (pun intended) is that the hotel is pretty good, but I suggest you avoid the restaurant like the plague if it's even slightly busy or there's any sign of a buffet happening!

Welcomed by a really nice receptionist - and quickly into our room. Great view of the sea was a bonus. parking was super easy. Lovely location near sea front and 10 mins walk into town. Perfect really considering the price. No hassle, all good here.

Traveled here for the Easter weekend's CAMRA beer festival in Winter Gardens. Both the hotel and the festival were great, but as reviewed in the Daily Mail a while ago, the town itself is rapidly falling into disrepair, tranches of shops are closed, quite a few charity shops are now selling everything for £1.

The Hotel is next door to the Railway Station and a short distance from the town, but unless you are only coming for an event like us, or for the beaches (which are lovely), the shops are sadly dying. Some are still going, but it appeared to us, most locals are shopping in nearby Canterbury. Can highly recommend the nearby Wetherspoons for food, their breakfasts are half the price of Premier Inn, and they have free unlimited wi-fi too...

Just had three night stay.never been to a premier inn before.Room was large with a double and single bed for just the two of us.room was clean, well laid out and exceptional for the money. All reception staff were helpfull and polite especially Naomi.Had a small problem with toilet door handle, sorted straight away.Ate in the brewers fayre restuarant attached to the hotel. Two meals for ten pounds and two deserts for two pounds fifty.Wish i had booked for longer.will most certainly be back.only small problem was the herd of elephants in the room above us.well thats what it sounded like but it quietened down quite early on each evening.

Room Tip: ask for top floor.

The hotel is 3 minutes from the Beach and very close to the station (but not too noisy even with a rear facing room looking towards the station).
If I visit Margate again I would definately stay in this hotel.
