It is what it is. A room with a view
We checked in at three. Left at about 3.30pm to go for a late lunch and see a show at Dreamland. Returned to the hotel at 11.00pm and checked out at 9.00am the next morning. It had no restaurant or breakfast facilities. The staff , the little we saw of them were amenable, the room reasonably clean and tidy.
It was though very expensive, albeit in high season, at £220 for what it had to offer

Location is good with some nice bars, pubs and restaurants as well as town centre all nearby. Room was large and facing sea. Comfortable bed.
Blinds meant room was quite light early in morning (summer stay) . Door on bathroom didn't shut properly. Staff very pleasant and hotel was generally clean. However describes itself as boutique (would disagree with this description) and 200 per night for room was expensive, with no breakfast as part of this price. Not as negative as some reviews and would stay again if cheaper price (140-160 ?).

Well i was VERY disappointed with my stay, i will start with the positives. The hotel was very clean, the room was fairley pleasant, quite spacious, tea, coffee, water all included, staff were friendly, and quite helpful, and the hotel itself was quite well situated, shame about the rundown and shut winter garden's opposite which did spoil the view a bit, but that is not the hotels fault admittedly, The sea view is lovely. I think this is where the positives ended for me personally.

Now the negatives. The smoke alarm in the room was clearly broken, in a building of this age that was quite concerning, the stairs are steep and narrow, and we were placed right at the top, which is a long way up, no offer to help with our luggage and no lift or disabled help available at all, the hotel needs to remember not all disabilities are visible at first sight, the room cost us £140 for the night, and no breakfast included or even available, and if it was we wasn't informed, i did ask the night staff and was told no chef to cook, again do you really need a qualified chef to cook a breakfast or at least offer a continental breakfast.
I assume the hotel did have wifi, but information how to access this was not provided in the room, and we didn't really fancy negotiating all those stairs again to gonto reception to find out.
The shower was also not very powerful, it was a shower...just but any less pressure it wouldn't of been much more than a dribble.
The iron was crap, tried to iron a shirt and even on full power it struggled to get creases out, it was little more than a travel iron with no option for steam.
No front door key provided, yes the staff let you in, but most people prefer the freedom to come and go without ringbells and disturbing people, especially late at night, and the room key is on a keyring about the sive of a sheet of A4, very impracticable when going out, does not fit in your pocket.
No parking
All in all i would not stay here again, it was overpriced with a lack of facilities and services

We had booked online direct with the hotel and had an email confirmation. When we arrived the hotel said they had no booking on the system and could not help us. We had booked online and had the email confirmation printed and this was shown to them and yet still nothing could be done. The manager was off site and it was left to the reception guy to deal with who could not and did not. I would advise NOBODY to use this establishment.

Room tip: Please do not use this hotel as they clearly have not got a clue on how to take bookings let alone run a hotel!! The place is a shambles.

We stayed at this hotel on the third of june. When we arrived they took payment straight away which I did find slightly unusual but payed £200 for the stay which never included breakfast. Our friends and us were then told that we didn’t need a front door key as the reception area was manned 24/7. With that we left to go to our concert and returned around 9.30. There was a party being held in the basement and we couldn’t get back into the hotel for around 30 minutes. Our friends returned after us and had the same problem. We went to our room and had to turn the tv up loud to drown out the noise of the party plus the guests that had spilled over into a marquee that is at the rear of the hotel. The music quietened down around 11.30 pm but the party guests that were in the marquee were loud , swearing and were probably not aware of other paying guests. My friends were on the ground floor and had the additional problem of guests in and out of the back door ( which was slamming constantly.
The guests never left till gone 4am needless to say we never managed to have much sleep. My friend who was on the ground floor did go to reception. She was told to ask for a fefund from booking .Com and that if she didn’t like it leave and also that the night manager could get them removed. Next morning we complained and was told that the general manager was not around and was probably still in bed and couldn’t be contacted. We did go to booking.com and now we’re in dispute with them saying that the booking had been cancelled.besides all that, the hotel was not as clean as it should have been and by no means is value for money. The staff (all except the young lady on reception as we left) seem to need training in customer relations and should not be drinking alcohol at reception .

Room tip: Stay away
