Lovely place, very clean, great food and very friendly staff, would definitely recommend it. Came down from Scotland for a wedding, first time here, but will not be the last . Margate itself doesn't have much to offer but a short bus or taxi ride gets you to Ramsgate where there is lots to see and do, particularly down the harbour area.

Thought id put on an honest review as before I stayed I read the 2 reviews below and was slightly worried.

Please ignore these reviews as there is nothing to worry about. We had a lovely welcome and was shown to our rooms. There were 6 of us in total and had booked 4 rooms.

The rooms were modern, clean, big enough, the bathroom was massive. The only negative thing I said was the bed was too low, we do have a kingsize very high bed at home so this has something to do with it. But when we slept in it, you wouldn't notice and it was very comfortable. I have a bad back so for me to say the bed is comfortable is a massive compliment. There was tea & coffee making facilities in the room. TV in the room, good toiletries provided. Plenty of towels. Plenty of storage space. Good powerful hairdryer. All 6 of us had no complaints about our rooms.

The hallway/stairs is dark as the lights are on a timer switch but its quite simple, you just press the button and tah dah as if my magic you have light!!

As the rooms are above the bar, the weekend could be noisy so if you want to go to bed early then this may not be the place for you but we were out until late then came back to the bar for a nightcap before bed, so that was no problem.

The breakfast was good, you can have cereal and a choice of hot food, cooked to order. It was lovely, the eggs were cooked perfectly. You can have juice, tea & coffee and top ups if required.

We have family nearby and if there was no room at the inn at their house, I wouldn't hesitate to book to stay here again. Good value for money and definitely more than a 3 star, which is why it counts itself as a 4 star..

Thank you very much The Hussar Inn :)

Room Tip: Some of the beds are low so if you prefer a higher bed, ask for one.

The hotel website cites the rooms as luxurious four star accommodation. This is far from the case as the carpets have seen better days, the bed is very low to the floor and the mattress lumpy. The tv though flat screen is very small in size and has to be on full volume to drown the noise from the bar below. The stairs are not well lit and proved very difficult for our disabled relative who had to negotiate the narrow steep stairs. Breakfast was mediocre.

We had the misfortune to to stay at this establishment after it was recommended to us by a friend who lives in the area, obviously they havn't stayed there, if you like surround sound in you room without a stereo this is the place to stay, the rooms were not as clean with the carpets requiring a good clean,no real access to rooms for disabled people. The food was good and varied but the staff especially the girl who took at least 5 mins to stop talking to punters about her new phone. Will definitely not stay here again

Room Tip: Nothing to add other than all rooms get extra music from the sound system

Clean hotel and seems recently decorated. Reasonably priced, with plenty of parking and within a short (20 mins) walking distance of Margate seafront. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. The hotel is also a pub and it does have music, at least on Sat nights so perhaps don't go here if you have young children or want peace and quiet before midnight on a Sat.

Very welcoming well run Pub/hotel. Rooms spotless. Bathroom fully equipped, towels changed daily. Nice breakfast freshly cooked. Good Choices. Will recommend. Locals in bar very friendly will come again but on a Friday as the entertainment looked inviting.

Room Tip: We had a lovely room overlooking the main street

Went to a wedding and reception here a few days ago and also stayed the night. The wedding was held in a gazebo with the guests sat either side of a red carpet, with the reception in an adjacent marquee. The whole place was well laid out, the food excellent, and the staff worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect for the bride, groom, and guests.

The room we stayed in was bright, spotlessly clean, and reasonably comfortable, with a well cooked full English breakfast to send us on our way. Well worth a visit.
