“Simple Food, cooked well...”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 via mobile

Often pop in here when i fancy some good pub food, chips are always excellent and the cajun chicken is a personal favorite. The thai food is also very, very good. Dont expect an ikea pub, this still has some character....

“i have seen the changes”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

This pub has gone through several Landlords in the last few years, most of which were appallingly awful. I have been using this Pub for more years than I can remember and can Honestly say that is as good now as its ever been.
The new couple running it Brian and Yin are making improvements all the time and have turned it into somewhere that has something for everyone. It has great food all week, and a superb Sunday roast at a very reasonable price. There is a Thai night on Monday that can get you a curry and a beer that will blow your socks off for a fiver.
Its a family friendly pub with children welcome up to about 9pm I think. There are 4 TV screens for those of you, like the Landlord, that like your sport, and a new Patio area at the rear that has been completed in the last week, just on the off chance we get a summer.
The Rose used to have a reputation for being an Oldie's Pub, but now seems to attract a younger crowd, especially on a Friday/Saturday evening when it can get busy.
They have a darts team and a Football team and organise days out to sporting events. Best to ask the Landlord about these as I have no interest in sport at all.
The Beer however I do know about and can honestly say in the last 18mths I have not had a bad pint. The lines are clean and the beer is good.
They have made a huge effort here and it shows. Even the old green smelly fish tank has been replaced by a nice new clean one that is maintained weekly.
