Ate dinner and breakfast here while staying at the Premier Inn next door. If you book the Prem Inn meal package you can choose from a restricted menu which is good value, but not exciting ...
Seated after a short wait, we waited almost 10 minutes for our order to be taken which was a little surprising as the restaurant was no more than two-thirds full (and beginning to empty out) and there seemed to be plenty of staff. Drinks arrived pretty quickly (house wine, not great), starters (both OK) about 5 mins more. There the good(isn) news ends, unfortunately .... There then ensued a 35 min wait until our mains arrived - they had clearly been under hot lamps on the pass for some while and were pretty grim. To be fair, desserts arrived quickly as did the bill when I asked for it, but initially it was incorrect with a £35 overcharge - quickly put right when pointed out. We may have just been unlucky, but this Beefeater succeeded in surpassing our low expectations with chaotic service and organisation (although the waitresses were all pleasant), and poor food. Breakfast was a great improvement, although almost as busy as dinner the much-reduced complement of waitresses were efficiency personified and food was good/prompt (thus earning an 'average' rating instead of a 'poor' one).

Having had an absolutely awful Premier Breakfast the previous day at the Vauxhall Inn next door to the Premier Inn Tonbridge at which we were staying on Pembury Road, the Inn’s manager arranged for us have our breakfast here today instead.

See my separate reviews - the Vauxhall is a Chef & Brewer, not part of the Premier Inn group. The Hilden Manor, next to the Premier Inn Tonbridge North is in the Premier group. Herein lies the difference.

At the Hilden Manor, a smiling waitress (Ashleigh) welcomed us, took our order and swiftly delivered a freshly-cooked, hot and substantial breakfast. Nothing seemed too much trouble - more of this, more of that, anything else you need…? The tables were squeeky clean, milk of all sorts - whole, semi-skimmed and skimmed - was available, food and crockery were constantly being replenished, and the serviettes covered your lap, not your kneecap. What’s more, we could have eaten here from 6.30 until 10.30am (compared to the measly 7.00 to 9.00am at the awful Vauxhall).

Eleven out of ten to the Hilden Manor (the extra one’s for neatness). We’ll be back - even if we’re staying at the other Premier Inn on Pembury Road!

Really helpful staff, clean and didn't have to wait too long for food. Food was reasonable quality and it had a good atmosphere. We were pleasantly surprised.

I have been there twice recently. Once for lunch......garden out front is lovely to sit in on a sunny day, food was alright but took ages coming out! Most people only get an hour for lunch and our wait meant we went over that time! That aside, it was not bad value for money!

Once for dinner.......Saturday night and we decided to walk to the place so we could both work up an appetite and have a drink. On arriving at what looked like a quite quiet restaurant, we were told we could not eat in the restaurant as they were too busy. I asked if we could eat in the bar and was told yes but it would be a long wait. From ordering to arrival food took 10 mins and the burgers we ordered were quite nice. The thing that spoilt it all was the feeling they never really wanted us to eat there. I had a look at their online booking system and for 3 months it would not let me reserve a table for 2 on either a fri or sat night! What's the score there then.........you can't reserve a table and apparently they are not too happy about walk-ins!!!
