“Good stay”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

We stayed here as a couple recently. Just to say that the hotel was fine, nice spacious room and very clean. It isn't what I would call a BUDGET price, however, with Premier Inn you do know what to expect and it is usually good, and all that is required for a comfortable stay. The Vauxhall Inn next door is nicely decorated and we met some friends for a convivial time at the bar.

Having read previous reviews I had regretted booking breakfast , but it was fine, freshly cooked, friendly service, quick to arrive. Kids were given colouring stuff both at breakfast and in the Premier Inn which kept them quiet. Room was usual high standard, comfortable, quiet other than road noise. Friendly, helpful check in, would stay again.

Decided to stay at this Premier Inn as we had been there before and liked the fact that it was nice and quiet, but on this occasion I was meeting old friends for an early afternoon drink in the attached restuarant. We were planning to have breakfast there the next morning, but by the time we left late afternoon the previous day, we were all smelling like we'd been working in the kitchen. The worst thing was that we had to endure the embarressment of a scene that could have been handled in a much better way. A domestic situation occurred near to where we were sitting, the barman asked the couple to leave and the woman chucked her drink all over him and then he just lost it and used some totally unforgiveable language at the top of his voice before throwing them out. The older girls in our party were particularly put out and as a result we subsequently decided, as a family, to get a Mc Donalds in the morning as a more attractive alternative.

Stayed here one night whilst visiting Leeds Castle. Warm welcome at reception. Comfy, warm and spotless room. Ate at the adjoining Vauxhall Inn which was very good food and the ambience very pleasant. Amazed how busy it became for a thursday night both in the bar and restaurant.
Fair prices and good portions.

The hotel is easy to miss from the road but is located just behind the Vauxhall Inn. Despite the fact that it was a Saturday night and by a large roundabout, it was very peaceful and this was a pleasant surprise. The girl at Reception was most cheerful and welcoming. My room was large, comfortable and had everything that I needed but the bed was a bit creaky when I moved around. Equipment included was much as expected: good shower in the en suite, tea/coffee making, TV (plenty of channels), sufficient storage space, desk and chair, fan, hair dryer and spare bedding/towels. To be honest, I usually only stay at soulless places like this when I come across special room deals, but on this occasion I needed a room for the night in Tonbridge. I paid £68 for the room: this would be an OK price for a couple but was not good value for a single, especially as no toiletries are provided. My biggest mistake, though, was in ordering breakfast. This cost £8.25 and was served at the Inn next door from 8-10am on a Sunday. I arrived at just after 8.30am. Unfortunately, it was a buffet arrangement for the 'hot' items and they were tepid at best. There were no hash browns and the scrambled egg had run out. The bacon and sausage were of dreadful quality. The tinned tomatoes and mushrooms were OK. The coffee would have been OK if it had been hot. The 'fresh' fruit salad contained all of my favourite breakfast fruit - melon, grapes, pineapple - but tasted as it had been prepared at least 2 days previously. The breakfast was advertised as 'eat as much as you like' - but who would want to? I much prefer hotels/B&Bs where everything is freshly cooked and prepared - there is the world of difference!

Everything you would expect from Premier Inn. Nice hotel in a nice peaceful area. The hotel had a nice seating area.
We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
The restaurant next door (Chef & Brewer) could have been better. They run out of Sunday roasts at 16.00. Then they ran out of foods every night.

Room Tip: We had one of the first rooms in and it was very noisy late as people came in and again early in the...
