What a great pub, right on the beach, friendly bar staff and lovely food. The pub has a great atmosphere & live bands on. I had the crab sandwich for lunch which was great with loads of fresh crab and nice side salad. Seems a lot of locals go here which always bodes well I think. I will definitely return.

Thank nancy o

Popped in here for lunch today while out visiting Whitstable for the day.
The Old Neptune is slightly out of the way from the main hub of activity but makes a great walk.

Inside the pub is really tiny. We ordered fish and chips and sat outside. Food was just basic pub food, nothing special. Sea views are beautiful - although its lovely location is hindered by the fact the wind literally flows right through you in such a large open space.

The food is awful, the selection of beers is boring, and the staff are wishing they were elsewhere. I wouldn't go here if i were you unless of course it's a sunny beautiful day in whitstable and you're hot and thirsty for a lager.

This is potentially a brilliant pub -right on the beach at whitstable - therein lies the problem -go on cold weekday in December with the wind howling off the sea and its fantastic the ale is great the food hearty -. Cometh the sun - cometth the hordes-on a sunny weekend in the summer the place is rammed - vour ale will come plastic glasses and your food will come next thursday the benches outside will stacked with kath kitson clad tarquin and annabel wet dogs and grown ups with very clipped vowels - take the hint avoid in the summer go and enjoy in the winter.
