Stayed for on night, wish we could have stayed longer! Perfect location with priceless parking on the seafront. Rooms have everything that you need including deck chairs for the beach and are spotlessly clean. Will be staying again soon I hope!

Lovely place to stay. Clean and newly decorated. Facilities very good. Bed a little uncomfortable but overall a good stay. Hotel is in the process of refurbishment/decoration. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. All in all, if you want to try an alternative short break, this is the one for you.

I have just returned from a one-night stay in one of the fishermans huts with my girlfriend.

The huts are quite quirky although the narrow road that leads down to them is tricky to find and difficult to negotiate (thank god we didn't encounter another vehicle).

The room was nice enough, spacious upstairs and two nice bathrooms. However, there was probably one fridge too many and an unnecessary microwave. The stairs are not particularly user-friendly either.

However, the main inconvenience was the fact that the main hotel was a good ten minute walk from the hut. A logistical headache first thing in the morning. I would therefore suggest that the hotel considers room service for the huts going forward.

Overall I can't complain. Well, actually I just have.

Having said that I still enjoyed my stay :)

hi
thanks for taking the time to write a review. The huts are located in the old part of Whitstable so unfortunately the road access is narrow so please drive carefully. The hut you stayed in is set up to accommodate families so having two bathrooms, a fridge and a microwave is very popular. The breakfast at the hotel is a 10min walk through the harbour and seafront alternatively at the weekends if you ask at reception they will give you a voucher to get a takeaway breakfast from the forge which is right next to the huts.thanks for coming james

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed in one of the huts, this occasion was for our wedding anniversary. The huts are right next to the beach so you can hear the sea, very theraputic. Clean and cosy and in a great location for all the pubs and restaurants. The hotel provides a cooked breakfast as well as continental included in the price so great value. My only two minor negatives are the car park which is very tight, especially for us as we were right at the end in Hut 9 but luckily we came in my Polo, I don't think my husbands Freelander would have got down there! Secondly the shower in Hut 9 is tiny. Overall we would thoroughly recommend a stay here for something completely different. Ideal for a night or two but probably not large enough for longer.

Room Tip: The website has a full description of the facilities in each hut to suit individual requirements.

hi
thanks for coming again, if you are driving a large car the spaces for huts 1,2,11,14 and the andersons shed are larger. If want more space try hut 11 or maybe the andersons shed.
thanks james

We started laughing from the minute we opened the door until we left two days later. Just like living in a Wendy House on the Beach, wonderful. Clean, warm, comfortable, Near the local restaurants, which are a bit full of themselves. However, the Crab and Winkle redressed the balance and served a super dinner. The Hotel Continental itself was a little disorganized more like the Hotel California than the Continental. Overall a superb experience which is worth a try.

Room Tip: Hut No. 4 had a bedroom upstairs

We stayed in Hut 6 - double bed up some( it has to be said) steep stairs with en suite bathroom. A 3rd full size bed downstairs plus sofa bed (small sofa) plus a fridge microwave kettle etc Perfect for 2 adults. Nicely finished, great look with the white bed linen. Excellent position for the sea front, car parking is tight but available for all the huts. Breakfast at the hotel was spot on, good full english on offer - buffet style but regularly topped up with fresh supplies - hotel is a good ten minute walk from the huts which is great on a nice day - maybe not so appealing when it's raining.Overall great value off peak - would be happy to stay again.

Room Tip: Hut 8 has 2 single beds down stairs with bathroom - king size bed upstairs - all the huts are unique...

I had 2 nights in Hut 1 over bank holiday. Loved it!

Good points:
Beautifully decked out, nicely furnished
Great bed - HUGE!
Great location - lovely to look out window to the sea!
Great shower
Good breakfast

Bad points:
Hut 1 is basically on the car park, which has very noisy stones on it...woken many times by cars and people as well..
Rather flat pillows - I think at this price you could replace these
Given there is a microwave, toaster & kettle, some plates & cutlery would be useful

Overall, if the price had been slightly less I would have given this 5 stars. It was great, but I do think it is slightly overpriced...I think a better website giving details of huts (and in this case warning of the carpark) would have helped.

Good news all the huts now have new pillows and hut 1 has enough cutlery and plates. Also if you stay sun to thurs now it is only 75 pounds per night. New website is on way with all hut details so you can make a more informed decision as to which one suits you best.
thanks for staying
