“Hottest venue in the bubble!!!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

Great food from Phill and outstanding service from staff. Especially Sarah and Lucy In the evening. Phills food is amazing and the front of house ensure that everyone has a special personal service. Elliott's offers a delightful range of wines or BYO . Fab little treasure on the best street in the bubble will be returning and recommending.

“Almost excellent”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

I recently visited Elliot's for a friends birthday as part of a group of six. As the visit was during the Whitstable oyster festival they had a very reasonable set menu of three courses for £20. I was the only vegetarian in our group of six, although there were two further guests who ate fish but not meat. The set menu was quite limited for those who don't eat meat, however the available options were mostly appealing. My starter of tomatoes, pesto and goats cheese was delicious - all of the ingredients were fresh and flavourful. My fellow diners all seemed to enjoy their starters, with the prawns looking particularly good. Unfortunately the main courses let the overall meal down. The vegetarian option was a simple mac and cheese, with an overcooked poached egg on top (the yolk wasn't runny). Aside from the veggie option, one diner remarked that their lamb dish was lacking in flavour. However the fish cakes did look fresh and were plentiful. The salad dressing was so good that I almost asked the chef how to make it! The dessert was of the same standard as the starters: outstanding. I had the crime brûlée which was incredible. The wine was similarly delicious. As the food was so reasonably priced we decided to splash out on our wine choice and we had the Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, both of which were fantastic.
The service was outstanding; friendly and attentive without being too overwhelming. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable.
Overall, I liked my experience at Elliot's. My only criticisms are that they could improve heir vegetarian options and, if the lamb is anything to go by, improve the seasoning slightly. I would return.

“Fabulous food!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Four of us had a wonderful evening here - and was great that we could take our dogs too. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - fantastic customer service along with delicious food - a great menu. I would really recommend this restaurant - Phil and Sarah have got this absolutely right.

“Stunning Meal!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

We dined at Elliots in Whitstable last Sunday evening for the Oyster Festival. We had a very enjoyable meal with wonderful starters, the best lobster thermidor i've ever tasted. Plenty of chips and salad accompanied the meal. Fantastic creme brulee and the brownies were gorgeous. A good supply of Peroni, wine, prosecco and fab G & T's!. Great ambience and a very continental setting with flowers, rustic table and chairs and candles. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We would recommend a visit to this charming "Coastal Kitchen".........

“wonderful experience thoughout”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

We ate in this restaurant during the very busy Oyster festival week. Due to the crab and winkle restaurant letting us down on our booking made some weeks earlier. We five had a table for 6.30 on the understanding we vacated by 8.30. With a simple menu of fish, meat or vegetarian for starter and also a special of half or whole lobster. Our groups order sampled each of the items from this menu and each of us had nothing but praise. Deserts were equally as delicious with the creme brulee being the best I have tasted. The ambience in the cafe was helped by the friendliness of the staff who worked hard to ensure every customer was made to feel welcome. Thank you for an absolutely top evening. We as a mixed group of locals and visitors are sure to revisit and recommend you to others.
