Visited this evening with my 2 young children. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was very reasonably priced but excellent quality. Kids had a chicken korma which was really tasty. I had the chefs special jalfrezi, a mixture of chicken and lamb tikka in a fantastic jalfrezi sauce. Breads were perfectly cooked too. Will defo be back next time we're in Whitstable. Thanks very much.

Thank Daniel L

Being new to the area I checked for an Indian that was well rated locally. Star of Bengal rated well so we chose them for our takeaway treat. The 1st time we ordered food to collect we were waiting an hour in the restaurant for our food. Had we not both been wrecked from work and hungry we would have asked for a
refund. Keen to give them a second chance we phoned well ahead and collected another curry tonight only to get home to find they had given us the wrong curry! This was 50 minutes ago and I am still waiting for them to drive the correct curry to my home, while the rest goes cold. I am thoroughly unimpressed at how they have treated us as customers twice and would not order from them EVER again and I will not be recommending them to anyone!

We've eaten here a few times now and really enjoyed the food. Most recently we took advantage of the £9.95 per person banquet offer - one plus an extra main course, a couple of papadoms (and a reasonable bottle of Muscadet) was plenty for two of us to share. To start we had a fish biran, spicy fillets of fish fried with onions, very tasty. For mains we had the tandoori king prawn and fish kurma with a side of bindi bhaji. The bindi bhaji here is quite delicious, spicy and dry, unlike the usual slimy mess served up in some restaurants. Included in the price is also rice and naan. There is a £2.50 surcharge for seafood dishes but in total this came to an amazing £34 for two and we were very full as portions are generous. At the end of the meal we were also offered a complimentary liqueur, possibly because it was a holiday weekend.
Other reviewers have commented on the size of the restaurant and it is small, so maybe not the place for an intimate meal and at busy times it is probably advisable to book. We have always found the service to be perfectly acceptable.

We have steadfastly being ignoring this little curry house - purely n the basis of its garish, unappealing exterior-however this weekend the desire for a take away Indian overcame our previous reluctance to try!
What a,little gem! Delicious fragrant food at a decent price! Cannot comment on the restaurant apart from to say: it's small, it appeared very clean and it was packed.
Looking forward to repeating the experience!
