The best breakfast by far. Included in the price. Freshly cooked eggs as you like them. Friendly and very welcoming hotel. Worth upgrading to a sea view just for the views. Rooms are spotless and comfortable. We'll recommended. Hotel is getting a lick of paint which includes the rooms. Be sure to ask for a recently decorated room.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a sea view.

My wife and I stayed here on our wedding evening, 17th April. 2014. It was included in the fact that we had Our wedding at the lobster shack/east quay venue, which incidentally was amazing and the fish and chips is excellent, well worth popping in if you are in Whitstable for a bite to eat!! The room we had was excellent, really lovely and the treatment we received by the staff in the morning was nothing short of exemplary!! I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Whitstable to book here!!!
Thank you very much,
James and Karen Barber.

A one night stay on a Saturday night on a cycling trip from Deal to Tonbridge via Whitstable. Lovely, fresh refurbished rooms with sea views. All you can eat fresh and well cooked breakfast and generally cheery staff. Clearly trying to improve, parts of the hotel looked shabby and glad we weren't in those areas. Please think about secure bike storage for cycling guests. We had to risk it round the back of the car park. It's standard practice to store in garage or other secure area. Didn't need the piped music at breakfast either. Sort a couple of things and we'll be back.

hi
Thanks for coming and for the great feedback on our new rooms. I shall definitely look into some new bike storage as Whitstable is a great place to cycle to and I know some bikes are worth a lot of money. I have stopped the piped music at breakfast!

This is the second time we have stayed here and they are currently in the process of refurbishing. This is a wonderful location. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a newly refurbished room with a sea view and balcony; these are tastefully decorated in keeping with the location and very well equipped. Little understaffed while we were there and the bar shut a tad early. Would return to see total refurb.

We are just driving back from a night's stay at this hotel. We have had many enjoyable stays at this hotel in the past but sadly after yesterday's visit we will never return. Our arrival was soured by the rude and unsympathetic receptionist, who, when told that we had to cancel a room due to our colleague's father suffering a serious stroke, suggested we were probably lying. Wholly unsympathetic, we were appalled and still cannot believe it. We were told our only recourse was to simply put it in an email!

We had the misfortune to encounter the same receptionist serving in the hotel bar later, who promptly shut the bar at 12 and told everyone they should take their drinks to their rooms rather than sit in the lounge!!

Overall, standards in terms of customer service were beyond dreadful. No doubt as a result of leaving what can only be described as young people with a serious attitude problem to basically run the hotel.

hi
Hannah who was working on reception that day is a valued member of our staff, I have spoken to her. She did not say you were 'lying'. Our company policy when people unfortunately tell us of something that has affected their ability to stay with us within the cancellation period is to email the details to the hotel so I can judge each case on it's merits. Invariably in a case where a family member has been taken seriously ill we will not charge them for the stay, even though this invariably costs us money..
We stop serving drinks at midnight during the week, this is not unusual for a provincial Hotel, you stayed on a Thursday night.
Just because Hannah has youth on her side does not mean she is not more than capable of being in a position of responsibility where she can deal with challenging situations.

We had stayed at the Fishermans Huts for a friend's wedding in 2013 and been really impressed. So hubby decided to book us and our friends a night for my birthday in early February as a surprise for me. He wasn't able to book two huts for just one night when he booked a couple of months ahead but was told if he rang them two days before the weekend and there were free huts he could have them. Unfortunately he tried this but was advised they were fully booked. So imagine his anger when he went to book in and overheard someone else checking into four huts for just that night - not a great start to my birthday surprise! When he queried it he was told they had probably booked late on a special offer but couldn't explain why he hadn't been offered this when he had been told a note had been put on our booking requesting huts if possible.
When we went to our room we were so disappointed - after the pure pleasure of the huts it felt like we had gone back in time. The room was tiny, overlooked the car park, was stiflingly hot and very dated. It was a good thing we were only there for one night as there was nowhere to put any cases without falling over them. The middle of the toilet roll holder was missing from the bathroom so the toilet roll was placed on the floor too.
On the good side - the shower was good, the staff were helpful, breakfast was great, the location is a nice walk into town and it's right on the beach.
Overall - we wouldn't stay again unless we could stay in a hut. And the management seriously need to consider how they deal with bookings requests for the huts in the off season.

HI
We normally only book the huts out for fri and sat together to make it easier to clean the huts in time. Sometimes we will let people book single nights at short notice if it looks quiet. It was a mistake to make a note on your booking about single night availiability as this is something that can be easily overlooked. I think in the near future we may change the policy to allow booking single rooms at the weekends all the way through the winter to avoid confusion.
The rooms are undergoing a refurb at the moment and although this will not effect the view it will mean that all rooms have somewhere to put your luggage and a wardrobe.
Hope to see you in the Huts soon

We stayed for one night and was pleasantly surprised. We had booked a non-refurbished room at a lower rate so was not expecting anything special but the room was lovely. Everything was nice and clean and the view from the window was beautiful. Fortunately the sun was shining and this did help! We did wonder about a wardrobe but as we were only staying for one night so not a problem. Staff were excellent and the breakfast was lovely. Will go back again but we missed our dog so would have to find accomodation that accepts him too!
