“A little piece of Whistable heaven”

Having never been to Whistable, I wasn't sure what to expect....but it is safe to say that it is a gem of a place and No 17 contributed to my adoration for the little town. Matthew has done an awesome job doing the place up - I had huge house envy and may have taken away some little tips for the decor for my own home!

Located centrally, we were literally 5 mins from everything which made stocking up the wine when it was running low very simple.

Matthew was really helpful and gave us some great recommendations for places to eat in the evening, where to get our fish and chips etc...and we managed to basically eat and drink the weekend away - which was definitely our intention.

Hoping to pop back next year for another weekend of wonderfulness.

“A seaside sanctuary”

A group of 5 of us girls (all in our early 30s!) rented No.17 for a weekend by the sea from London. What a perfect little house - from the location (stone's throw from the High Street and Harbour) to the decor, to the wonderful remodelling of the open kitchen, it was the ideal spot for a weekend away from it all.
Matt was brilliant - very accommodating about arrival/departure times, recommeding good eateries and things to do, and generally left us to enjoy ourselves while always being a phonecall away if needed. It was very well equipped with everything you could need for a weekend away, and THE BEDS, oh my. It's been a long time since I've slept in a single bed and this one made it no hardship! In fact, sleeping in an attic room with a beautiful view an a friend to gossip with swiftly transported me back to my youth.
Traditionally a Cornwall holiday lover, I would say this trip has firmly converted me to Whitstable as a weekend getaway destination, and I look forward to making a trip to No 17 a regular(ish) occurrence.

“A holiday in the home you wish you had”

My second stay in a holiday home from the same owner was even better than the first. These homes are beautiful and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. You couldn't get a better service from the owner - he even picked us up on our walk from the station (though don't expect this as standard). Just a great example of how going the extra mile makes all the difference.

Brilliantly located with everything Whitstable has to offer right on your doorstep. There's even a great little bar just a few doors down. You need no more incentive than that to get booking. You can't fail to enjoy it as much as we did.

Every time I visit I start hatching plans of how I can live in a house like this, in a town like this all the time!

“Perfect for our family Christmas break”
Reviewed 3 February 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We were instantly attracted by this property's style when looking for a Christmas holiday home and it didn't disappoint. The kitchen/diner was the perfect social space over the festive period and the whole house very comfortable. Location great for easy walking access to the many pubs and restaurants we enjoyed too.
Parking could be a little testing but no need to move the car much once you are there and always a space fairly close by.

“PERFECT”
Reviewed 3 February 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We stayed at No.17 for New Year with family and it was perfect. The kitchen dining area was fabulous for entertaining and playing games. The cottage is very well equiped.

We have visited Whitstable on a number of occassions and will definitely return again.

“Wonderfully designed property”
Reviewed 9 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

I actually stayed here whilst looking for properties in Whitstable. It's fair to say I'd have snapped your arm off to buy this place! Immaculately designed with the centrepiece being the wonderful kitchen/diner/seated area at the back of the house with gatefold doors on to the paved garden - ideal for long summer evenings (even though I stayed in winter!). Very comfortable beds, wonderfully warm in winter and loads of utensils for the keen cook. Very close to the wonderful Harbour Street, too. Only downside I could recall was a faulty dishwasher that barely detracted from the stay. What the pictures also don't show is that there's seating for at least 4 in the lounge at the front of the house. You won't regret staying here.

“A lovely relaxing weekend away”
Reviewed 17 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

The cottage was absolutely beautiful. There were all the amenities we required and much more. The kids (age 10 and 8) both loved the loft bedroom.

The cottage is not far from the shops and a short stroll from the beach. Fantastic location.

The only thing that was missing was an open fire, but I think the other cottage "The Ventings" has one so I may rent that next time.
