Unfortunately when we arrived our room had been double booked. Mistakes happen and Rory did brilliantly to arrange other accommodation for us later that afternoon; a small house in town. Sadly, this didn't live up to what it should've. We had to sleep in the second bedroom, tumble dry our own towels and in the morning, found we had no hot water. We don't get away often and so, whilst grateful for our supposed 'upgrade', did leave pretty disappointed by the muddle.
Had we stayed at the Boutique Bedrooms, I must say the location looks wonderful... right by the sea and close to town. It is also by Whitstable Castle which had a great vintage sale in the gardens on the Sunday.
Our delightful 2 nights started with a warm welcome from Rory. The rooms really are as beautiful and clean as they look and the location is excellent right next to the Continental Hotel where we watched the sun go down with a glass of wine, opposite the beach and a short walk from the centre.
There is free parking a short walk away and a lovely little court yard outside the room to sit in which was well sheltered from the wind (useful this weekend!)
We had a few challenges with the locks and TV (we don't have sky so not familiar) which Rory promptly assisted us with.
On one of the days where the weather was biblical and we decided to watch a movie Rory made a mug of tea accompanied by some lovely caramel biscuits.
The only thing I might consider adding to the room would be a small fridge large enough to hold a bottle of wine and a bottle opener :)
The beach cafe around the corner that Rory recommended serves a great English breakfast too with orange eggs! (Fresh) and tasty sausages, great start to the day.
I would definitely wish to stay here again and highly recommend it. Thank you
for a wonderful stay :)
My boyfriend stayed in Room 2 (the smaller room) for one night on our trip to Whitstable to celebrate our anniversary.
The room is beautiful. Fresh, white and decorated with a shabby chic beach theme which I love. The bed was really comfortable and it was great to have wifi and Sky TV too. The bathroom was really clean and the shower was really good.
Only downside is there isn't any storage space for clothes but this was fine as we only stayed one night and I bought hangers so we hung up our clothes on the door. Also, the windows do not open but luckily Rory was able to provide us with a fan.
Rory and his family were lovely and very accomodating. They didn't disturb our stay at all but were on hand should we need anything. ie. the fan and my boyfriend needed an iron for his shirt which Rory got for him.
The location is fantastic. The house is literally on the sea front and it is a 5-10min walk to Whitstable Harbour. The harbour is fantastic and has lots of little stalls. I would definitely recommend the sweet stall run by a couple. I literally ate my body weight in fudge!
If visiting Whitstable at the weekend, I would definitely recommend booking dinner and lunch as it gets very busy!
Overall, a lovely room in an amazing location. And definitely great value for money!

Bedroom 1. Perfect location by the sea but quiet and not too touristy end but still close enough to walk to the action (5 mins). Beautiful decor. So romantic. We'll be back and for longer next time. Why would anyone stay in a hotel?
Also owners father in law and partner were manning the fort and were lovely and welcoming, made the whole experience easy and relaxing and were on hand if we needed anything! This place made us want to move to Whitstable !!
This is a great place to stay in Whistable - just yards from the beach and easy walking distance to bars/restaurants/shops
The room is very well decorated and comfortable and completely self contained.
Owner Rory is very helpful - all in all a great experience and one I would recommend
Boutique beach is exactly what it claims to be... Gorgeous boutique decor down to the last detail and directly on the beach at Whitstable! Rory the owner was so helpful with directions and explaining where to park (free car park literally around the corner) and met me to show me to the room. The room itself is beautifully decorated, no expense spared with a seaside shabby-chic theme, gorgeous and very comfortable French style bed and matching furniture, heated floor in the bathroom, seperate very large and deep bath was a lovely luxury! Tea and coffee making facilties which were re stocked at our convenience every day. Room was also cleaned every day which we thought was a very nice touch making the room feel more like a luxury hotel. Location wise you can't go wrong ~ the room is only a ten minute walk (if that) into the small high street, directly opposite the beach and there is a lovely cafe around the corner. Rory was most accomodating and was always available if we needed him. I couldn't fault this place at all and thoroughly recommend this as a romantic retreat. I can't wait to go back!
