Stayed here with my wife, as a weekend break for her birthday, got the spa package and must say had a lovely time. The hotel has really great facilities, nice spa, bar, pool and restaurant. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The meal in the restaurant was really good, breakfast too was great and for a buffet, cooked nicely. Would come back and recommend this place. What stopped me giving it five stars was our cold and took a few hours with heating on full blast to warm up plus our room was near lift which was quite noisy, luckily it had very little use so didn't impede our our peace and quiet.

Room Tip: try some of the speciality bottleled ales from the bar

We came for 2 nights and we're disappointed with the whole service. The restaurant is depressing with bad service and the food is unpalatable. The breakfast had to be sent back it was cold and like rubber.
The bed gave me back ache and the spa treatments were unsatisfactory. The reception staff were unhelpful and had an attitude.
I've never complained on here before and stay out often but felt it was needed. I'm glad I didn't pay full price and won't be staying again.
The one nice thing about it is the jacuzzi.

We enjoyed our spa day at the Mercure Last Drop Village in Bolton, In particular the Spa receptionist (The lady with the glasses) was excellent and the facilities of the spa were very good although one of the showers was broken and the inset ice alcoves that we have seen and used at other Mercure spas were no longer available - one being tiled up completely?

We absolutely loved the outside hot spa area with lovely views over the countryside and hills. Before arriving we had been informed (wrongly) that we would have to pay an extra £5 for towels and dressing gowns but found this was not so possibly because we were having massages these were free?

We had lunch in the Hotel's cafe/bar area as the coffee shop was closed and that was excellent too with great club sandwiches and lovely cakes and tea.

Our massages were very good but my wife's 25 minutes massage ended up as only 15 minutes and mine only slightly longer even though we were there well before out booked time, I think this was because our sessions were the last of the day at 4pm. I think this really spoiled it for my wife. All in all a very good quaint venue even with the areas mentioned above that could be fixed to make it better.

Dear Wraakian

Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay with us.

It is a pleasure to read that you enjoyed your stay and your comments have been passed through to my Spa Manager with regards to your treatment times. The 30 minute slot does include the time it takes to undress / dress etc so the treatment will vary but the time allocated will never change, I hope this goes someway to explaining this for you.

I do hope we will welcome you again in the future and once again many thanks for your review.

Kind Regards

Stayed here with family for a special birthday just before Christmas. We were booked in on a dinner Bed and Breakfast package All the rooms were family rooms very spacious very clean nice bathrooms and nice touches . All the rooms had lovely views.
The pool and warm thermal pool were fantastic and we all loved it children and adults.
The evening meal was very good and we were given our own section with a long table which was great . We found all the staff to be welcoming and efficient and had such a good time we are hoping to repeat it soon for another special family birthda.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor in the main building and all had great views

We have just got back from another lovely stay at the Last Drop. The hotel is set in a lovely location with little shops, a tea room and pub in its grounds. The room we stayed in (43) was large, comfortable and very clean and warm. The evening meal and breakfast were of a very good standard with good service. The thing I particularly like about this hotel is thermal suite which has a hydro therapy pool which opens up to the outside. The staff are very professional and friendly and I would not hesitate to recommend you visit.

Room Tip: Look out for the special offers on the Mercure website

Stayed here in October 2013 as we was having an evening with friends at the nearby Strawburry Duck pub and needed somewhere local to stay.We was given a room on the upper floor of the courtyard behind the main. building. The room was nice and clean, bathroom was a very good size too. No problems.
I like the quaint old fashioned style of the main buildings love old architecture etc is very old village style and if i remember right there was a water fountain or pond below our room.
Have previously stayed here in 2003 on a works function but didn't get to use the leisure facilities then as they had been a fire in that building, So was looking forward to using it this time but again didn't get to as spent most of the time out with friends and had to leave not long after breakfast (which was good) the next morning to get back home.Maybe next time?
