Have been here a couple of times using the overnight spa package. The pool, spa facilities and outdoor water area that is warm and overlooks pleasant views are very good, you could easily spend a couple of hours relaxing here although the steam room this time did have very little steam in it. The girls who do the treatments are lovely and professional and although shorter on this deal, they are of good quality. We were upgraded to am executive room as we went mid week so our room was not as dated as others may be and included dressing gowns, complementary water and many free toiletries! I agree with others that the restaurant in the evening is very short staffed so there is a delay in receiving food but Tugay who seemed to be in charge was very aware of this and was apologetic and did genuinely care whether we were enjoying our meal. He really should be given more waiters to work with as he was rushed off his feet and some were starting to grumble at him but obviously the slow, albeit friendly service is not his fault. All of the staff we talked to were very cheerful and polite with one man, Ravin I think who serves breakfast and works in the cafe in the daytime, even remembering us from last year. The package was cheaper than others around and for this we can not criticise the hotel or service we experienced. The outdoor pool area is a real plus point!

The hotel was old, shoddy and in desperate need of repair. The room was fresh out of the 1920s, the telephone was probably older than my boyfriend and i put together. The hairdryer was awful and again, probably older than the Queen of England. Don't even get me started on the shower - if you want a dribble and a bit of soap then this is the place for you but otherwise not powerful enough to make you feel clean. If you decide to opt for a bath instead then you best hope you're not tall/and or obese because this also was very old and built to body types more like those typical in the 1950s. My 6ft2 boyfriend had no chance of sitting comfortably in it. Despite the room and its features, we had a good night's sleep and the bed was comfy. We stayed here for a wedding and the event itself was stunning, just a shame the room couldn't live up to this. The staff also couldn't care less about us on check in but maybe that's because they were busy - they had two weddings on the day of arrival.

Dear Jenny D

Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay with us.

I am delighted to hear you enjoyed the wedding you attended and although our bedrooms aren't as modern as we would like our team work extremely hard to ensure they are clean and comfortable for our guests.

Spent one night in one of the Hotel's Cottage Rooms. Very clean and spacious a few minutes walk from reception. Not ideal for anyone with mobility problems and the wet leaves on the flagstones at the foot of the stairs leading to our room were a bit of a hazard. However that said, the room was exceptionally comfortable and quiet. The hotel advertises free wifi but we did not have access in our location.

What marred our stay was the poor service. We order our meal at 19.15 and the first course arrived at 20.05. This wasn't the fault of the hard worked staff but there only seemed three who were actually waiting on diners. The drinks service was hit and miss trying to attract the attention of someone who resembled a drinks waiter!

Our three course meal took just over two and a half hours to be served which is unacceptable. The meal overall was very good but the lack of a timely service meant that this detracted from the meal.

Overall, a lovely hotel, good location but the service just was not good enough.

Staff are friendly enough but the hotel needs serious refurbishment! I stayed here several years ago and decor hasn't changed rooms are scruffy and outdated but can't fault the cleanliness in the room. I've been here two days now and the same glasses are still waiting collection along the corridors! Come on Mecure you can do better!

This was our 3rd visit to the Tea room at the Last Drop on Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed our usual tea and cake but wished we had tried the afternoon tea which another customer has ordered it looked lovely! Always next week. Staff were very helpful and friendly and we didn't feel at all rushed. On our previous visit when the weather was sunny we sat outside but had to share a bench style table with another couple and their dog, perhaps more tables would be better outside so everyone can enjoy the weather and the people watching!

Me & my husband had been looking for a last minute getaway for our anniversary & decided on the Last Drop Village for 2 nights as it offered the use of a range of facilities, e.g. gym, swimming pool, sauna etc. However, you definitely pay for the use of these facilities as our room was not the best.

It was very dated & in desperate need of some tlc. We decided to put up with it purely because we just wanted to be together after not seeing each other for over a month, but in hindsight now we wish we'd said something at the time as we paid a lot of money for what we got & at this moment in time we are left with a very bitter taste in our mouths.

We decided to book a table in the hotel restaurant the first night. The staff were really friendly but the food was shocking & way overpriced for what you got. I would recommend you eat out if you're staying at this hotel. At breakfast the gentleman on the floor was really friendly but I noticed he was basically left to attend to the guests himself, even though I did see 2 young lads floating about in the pub who were meant to be helping him.

The spa is the hotel's best feature & we spent most of our 2nd day there & we had a lovely time.

When we left we informed the hotel of what we thought of our stay & advised them that our room was appalling for the money they we were asking. They simply said that they would be happy to pay the rate they were asking but they would do better next time we stayed at the hotel... this should be expected & not something that is arranged 'for next time'.

I have stayed in a Premier Inn that was better quality & much cheaper.

Booked it as a little get away for our Anniversary we stayed in room 77, walking up to the room the hallways looked dirty, when we first got into the room 3 of the light fittings didn't work lamp shades were very dirty, the room had drill holes and ripped wall paper scattered all over the walls, the bed was a 4 poster bed and one of the posts were badly cracked and caused the bed posts to lean which looked quite unsafe, the bathroom was VERY dated it had fake wooden tiles some of which were coming off the wall it also had wall paper ceiling which was also pealing off, we booked a table for the restaurant which was quite expensive for what you got, we had the beetroot starter which was basically out of a tin, we then had the steak which was ok but still not worth what they are charging, the desserts we had were creme brulee which was terrible it was completely cold even though the top is supposed to be hot, the filling was basically just like someone had poured cream into a dush it had no consistancy of a creme brulee and it was more like a drink, overall the restaurant was like a pub meal gone wrong and in no way worth the money, we went to breakfast at 8am the next morning the cooked breakfast was all cold, walking to breakfast there were plates of food on the floor outside rooms which were still there at 6pm.

On a plus note the leisure facilities were good,

Overall the hotel was very very disappointing dated, dirty, poor food and really really over priced.
