This modern hotel has excellent car parking. The entrance foyer and check-in area is spacious, clean and airy. Check-in was pleasant and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was not generously spaced although we did have an extra bed for my grandson in there. The bathroom was clean and modern. The bed was OK.

Breakfast was decent, serve yourself with plenty of choice of both hot and cold food and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The area around the hotel is beautiful and there are many beauty-spots and historical attractions within easy walking or driving distance. The hotel is located by a motorway junction and has a train station close by.

This is a modern, budget hotel conveniently located close to the motorway just outside town. The rooms are fine for two and some have sofa beds for children. Well maintained with all mod cons. There is a bar and a small restaurant selling basic meals which are good value. The buffet breakfast gives a range of hot and cold food so if you are in a rush to get off you can grab a quick meal. No gym, but the hotel is close to the canal which allows you to get a off road run into town. Staff seem friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the non-motorway side if you don't like night time traffic noise.

I stay here several times a year when I'm visiting family and friends as it's at a perfect location for driving to all the main towns nearby including Skipton, Colne, Clitheroe or even into Manchester. It is always relaxed, well maintained and with helpful yet discrete staff who never seem to mind going out of their way. As most other reviewers say, the rooms are well furnished, very clean and modern. There are no toiletries provided in the bathroom except dispenser liquid soap and shower gel but that's not a problem for me. They do provide other toiletries if you forgot something important.

I think the 'traffic light' tips in the lift for the best time for breakfast is helpful although I've never struggled to get a table at any time either at the weekend or during the week. I'm not a fan of fry-ups and the fact that the hot food is prepared well in advance may be off-putting for some. There is a more than adequate continental selection.

In summer or on a crisp dry winter day it's lovely to walk from the hotel into the town on the canal path.

Room Tip: I always take an upper floor room on the car park side as it is wonderfully quiet with decent views...

Room 307

Having stayed in other Budget hotels, Premier Inn, Travel Lodge etc..we weren't expecting a fault free stay, however we came away from here feeling rather disappointed.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, Pendle Way overnight 12/1/2014, having enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Woodland Spa. We booked this separately, in order to make it a cheap weekend away.

Issues

- Room, We aren't fussy but the room was dirty - some stains on wall and in serious need of a good dust. Skirting boards, TV and around the beds were thick with it! Also, Plug did not seal on sink in bathroom...I adjusted this but surely this should have been checked?
- Plant room/lift noise. We experienced whirring and a noise like a washing machine on spin into the early hours meaning we didn't have the best night sleep!
- Breakfast - This was absolutely awful, sausages were dried up, beans like bullets so we resorted to the continental option after we had both tasted it! + we both had upset stomachs when we got home!

We did not report the breakfast as we were in a rush to get home, and didn't realise the impact of it until we got home! Staff were very nice, and apologised for the room and noise issues but clearly Holiday Inn don't offer any guarantee as other budget hotels do, and having had a negative experience we probably will cross this off our list of chains for future!

Many Thanks for taking the time to post a review. I am sorry to learn that you did not enjoy your stay, we pride ourselves on high standards and it is disappointing to hear that we did not live up to these. Your comments will be fed across the team to help us further improve. All Holiday Inn Express hotels offer free breakfast and this is based around a continental selection with added hot options and I do apologise that this was not up to standard, it is reviewed regularly and we use guest feedback to aid with this. Once again we are sorry that you didnt enjoy your stay and if there is anything you would like to discuss further please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

This is a swish modern hotel with big car park, plenty of space and most importantly some good and caring staff. I turned up after 10pm to find the restaurant closed but the person in charge quickly said he could try and do me a meal. The food (I just asked for a cheese burger and chips) promptly arrived and I have to say it was done very nicely. So often the difference between a poor stay and a good stay is the people element and on this occasion the “person” went above and beyond. Not probably somewhere I would stay for a long period of time but for a night or two this place would be great.

Room Tip: I think they are all the same

We had an overnight stay to avoid driving after work christmas party. The hotel was easy to find ,and the man on reception very friendly and efficient . We had a room overlooking the car park that was very quiet . The room itself was very clean and warm . The breakfast was fine . Would certainly stay here again .and recommend.
