Very homely. Felt we had a wing of the house to ourselves so wasn't like staying in a hotel at all, no noisy late night arrivals, no creaky floorboards above the room. Very friendly owners. Beautiful house, lovely gardens. Very relaxing. Almost as if you were staying in a cottage but with breakfast provided and no need to make your own beds! Local pub, train station, shops not too far away.

Based on reviews , we were quite excited about the prospect of a super stop off on one of our regular trips up and down the M6.
Location ....great...easy access from the M6 at junction 28
First impression......large garden .....looking good
Interior ......dark cluttered and somewhat oppressive breakfast area, dingy stair carpet, cluttered landing, narrow hallway leading to bedrooms
Our bedroom.....lovely ...a spacious twin with comfortable beds, tea/coffee tray and big bathroom with the best electric shower I have come across. Doors do not have keys. No wifi in the bedroom. The large feather duvets would not suit allergy sufferers and were much too hot for summer use. Some of the double glazed panes in the main window have failed.
Breakfast ......good cooked choices , good quality bacon, well presented. Lovely marmalade

Evening meal at the nearby Travellers Rest pub (not walking distance).... enjoyable .hearty pub food, ....good value

Overall , we thought Gleadhill Farm was good value, and we had a pleasant stay, but definitely not in the "fabulous " category

Room Tip: The large twin at the front of the house is very nice

Nothing could be faulted with our stay at this lovely farmhouse. The room, the linen, the facilities and the breakfast were all first class. We had a lovely welcome from the owners and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their establishment.

We stopped at this farmhouse whilst visiting our son in Euxton and en route to Harrogate. I didn't realise what an exceptional place this would be.
I asked for the blue room having read previous reviews and was so glad I did. From the lofty ceilings to the pretty china and scrumptious biscuits, everything was just right. The bathroom too is lovely with the requisite amount of quirkiness that is appropriate for an old farmhouse. We loved it!!
The breakfast too cannot be complimented too highly. The fresh apricots in the fruit salad, the gorgeous bread and beautifully presented breakfast all went towards a grand conclusion to a stay. Mrs Holmes can't do enough to make your stay a pleasant one and her paintings are fabulous. I am hoping to buy a particular one should it come up for sale!!!
Go there and indulge...we will be staying again when in the area...or even if we aren't!

Smashing place, spotlessly clean and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and the marmalade to die for. Very friendly and if we come back down again will stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely room with all the facilities you could want. Tragically, I had to leave really early but still wasn't allowed to leave without coffee and toast with wonderful home made marmalade. A gem of a bed and breakfast.

I usually end up staying at faceless Premier Inn type places for business, but liked the look of Gleadhill Farm on the web so figured I'd go for a change - and so glad I did!

Booked only an hour or so before I arrived, it didn't phase Angela at all, made me very welcome and a beautiful room to boot...

Great advice on where to eat (Papa Luigi's nearby) and a beautiful breakfast the following morning - can't fault a single aspect of my stay!
