Friends and I have been enjoying the wide ranging choice of beers here for many years, and on occasion have been fortunate enough to be there on a Tuesday when the pub serves whichever curry dish Mel has concocted. After last Tuesday's curry experience (not to mention the excellent "Windermere Pale") I was moved to write this. This week's curry was called Chicken Pardiso, (that was the spelling on the chalkboard - should it have been Paradiso?) of which we'd never heard. It was truly one if the best curries I've ever had, and at £7.50 for a huge portion with rice including poppadoms and pickles to start, was excellent value.
The pub is not luxurious and the atmosphere can be intruded upon by loud locals huddled at the bar, but the staff are friendly and efficient and canal side locations are always interesting. If it's good beer and grub you're after don't miss it.
