I was recommended this hotel by someone who had been to a wedding here and evidently had a rose-tinted view of their stay.

Where to start? The pro's - a secret exit from the M6 via a service station: thanks Sat Nav - convenient! Staff were friendly. Free Wifi. They have had a crack at upgrading the rooms in a beige way. Cleanish. Good gym. The lavender room spray, which I found useful (see con number one, below).

The con's - my room smelled of vomit. The whole place has a surreal, empty atmosphere. Scratchy, poly-something bed linen which covers a squeeky old bed.

Overall, pretty average with a feel of a hotel that has seen better days. I probably won't come back.

Location is a little off the beaten track and not near anything else except the Camelot theme park. Was given a room which required quite a hike to get to it. Room was well proportioned and I couldn't have wished for more .... except a shower that got you wet ! ! Water jets were pretty weak to be honest. Would stay again but would need to vet the room first ....

We stayed here for 1 night on Saturday 12th November with our children. We were met by a miserable receptionist, who gave us no information whatsoever except our room number. We were allocated one of the huts around the back of the hotel. The rooms were old and dated and extremely shabby. The upholstery was ripped and bathroom sink was smashed and held together with glue. There were tea stains on the dressing table and room was generally dirty.

To make matters worse, our children were woken up with really loud music from some event happening in the next building. The band/disco people from the event gave total disregard for people sleeping nearby when they loaded their van at 2.50am right outside our room, again waking us and our children. Clearly no planning went into the allocation of the room.

The breakfast wasn't as expected either, it was cold. The staff were standing around chatting, and the slug trails all over the carpet really put us off.

We paid £185 for the night for a standard far lower than expected. We were totally ripped off and will never stay there again. The pictures you see on the internet are not a true reflection of the place. Don't be fooled. We couldn't wait to leave.

This was a complimetary return stay offered by the GM Ciaran Kelly. This followed a very unsatisfactory stay in May for my daughter's birthday. I had paid an extra £50 for the Bertie Bassett suite, which was dirty, stained carpets, no sweets in room as part of the package and very tired and shabby decor in the room. In addition service in the restaurant was poor, had to ask for a drink to be brought 3 times before it finally arrived, not enough staff at breakfast left many empty tables being unused with customers waiting. I was hopeful thay my return stay was going to be better, the room in the main hotel was an improvement although more care could be given to the cleaning of the room, round the edge of the carpets, skirting boards and at edge of bed all required extra care. VERY concerned that the window opened fully on the second floor with no safety features, exceptionally dangerous if you have young children, this was supposedly a family room. Arrived at 9.45 for breakfast and was turned away saying breakfast had finished at 9.30. We presented a leaflet to the receptionist which clearly stated breakfast was served until 10, this was the first leaflet visible when we opened our room information leaflet. We were then told this leaflet ran out in July!! When I mentioned that perhaps this should have been picked up housekeeping, we were told they don't check those every day, maybe not everyday but by my reckoning the leaflet is now almost 3 months out of date. Grudgingly we were allowed to take breakfast after being told the GM had called through to the restaurant asking them to serve us. Upon arrival the man at the restaurant reception proceeded to argue with us, shocking service when a younger waiter intervened and said it was OK to let us in, I would have thought given how quiet the hotel was that the service should have been perfect, I'm afraid it was far from it. The management really need to take a long hard look at what they are doing, the other reviews on trip advisor clearly show a theme of unhappy customers.........

Booked one night as a treat. On arrival was given a map (very surprised at this) to find our room at the opposite side of the complex in the "Village". Our key cards didn't work so had to find reception and get them sorted. Once inside the room had a seperate room with 2 single beds, a fab bathroom - but in the lounge area there was a pull down double bed! And the smallest TV I've seen in a hotel. The double bed had a unaired smell. I asked at reception if they had any rooms in the main hotel itself and was given room 131 - this was fab - no funny smells, a bed not tucked in a cupboard, 2 big sofa beds in the lounge and a normal sized TV in the lounge area! A great improvement on the "Village" room. The bar meal was very poor - and I was advised that this was due to it being off peak! The leisure pools were fab! Bit of a mixed bag for our stay.
