Owner description: Chorley Little Theatre is a volunteer-run independent venue staging plays, musicals, pantos, touring comedy, music and films.Built in 1910, it has been owned and operated by amdram group CADOS since 1960 and produces at least 6 full shows per year, plus 2 by Chorley Youth Theatre. It's an ideal venue for comedy shows by top stand-up comedians, and the regular film showings are digitally projected on to the big screen, with Surround Sound. There's a great-priced bar and the building has full disabled access. Any profits go back into the upkeep of the building, and all income comes from ticket and bar sales.

“a hidden gem”

lovely friendly theatre, great shows, I agree with the other reviewers, this is a real hidden gem in Chorley. Went to an amateur dramatic show (comedy theme) and ended up crying with laughing, the best show I've seen for a very long time, it was perfect. Great value for money, you can order your drinks prior to the interval, thereby saving time as they are waiting for you when you go to the bar. That's a fantastic idea. Overall experience is one of "I'll be back, great time had by all". Please visit, you won't be disappointed.

“Fabulous shows, very good value.”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Have recently seen two shows at the Little Theatre and both have been outstanding. It is hard to believe that the cast and crew are not professional actors but part of CADOS (Chorley Amateur Dramatics).
The CADOS shows generally cost less than a visit to the cinema so very good value. There is a bar and snack/ice cream trolley at the interval if you're thirsty or peckish!
Will be getting a season ticket for the coming season which is even better value.

“Enjoy”

I always enjoy going to Chorley Little Theatre. There's nothing to complain about. You can have a drink in the interval and when the show/ film has finished. Ice cream/sweets are served in the interval at reasonable prices. Everybody works really hard to ensure that everything goes to plan

“A little gem.”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

Chorley Little Theatre [ now known as Chorley Empire Theatre ], is a liitle gem tucked away up a side road by the Rose and Crown pub on St Thomas Rd.
It regularly puts on some excellent plays, the latest one was The 39 steps which was superb, all done by volunteers. The theatre also plays host to some top - line entertainers. The latest one being John Bishop.
It is also the home of The Chorley Film Society which is also run by volunteers and shows up to date films winter and spring and is open to anyone. You don't have to be a member.Just turn up and it is only £4 per showing.
The theatre is small and cosy with a lovely newly re-furbished bar,at very reasonable prices, and is also run by volunteersThe ladies toilet is small, but in the I believe in the pipe line for upgrading when they have the funds.
If you want to see a good play or up to date film locally without spending a fortune, give the little theatre a chance. I don't think you will be disappointed, and it's good to support your own local theatre.
They do have a website if interested.

“Brilliant.”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

Visited Chorley Little Theatre to watch a performance of The 39 Steps.
The theatre is small but the volunteers are great, and all runs smoothly. The performance was excellent, hilarious, so many characters from four actors.
There were some empty seats, so get yourself a ticket and get round there.
All round a great night at an inviting little theatre, and you can have a civilized drink as well.
