“Very good”
Reviewed 14 June 2010

We stayed at Chorley South for one night as we were going to the Pink concert at Bolton and felt that the short train ride would have been better than staying at the Premier Inn immediately outside the Reebok, this meant we could get out and about during the day and easily get to where we needed to be at night.

From arrival to departure I cannot fault the hotel or it's staff. At check in we were greeted with a smiling friendly welcome, on returning to the hotel at night the evening operator asked if we'd had an enjoyable night and on checking out we got the same friendly service again.

The room was immaculate, the bed was perfect (big and comfortable), the walls are not paper thin so you get a decent nights sleep, plenty of hot water for the shower, there was nothing of fault.

The pub outside offers a full range of meals at very good prices so have everything you need to get fed and watered on your doorstep if you need it.

There is a bus stop immediately outside the hotel so transport and rail link isn't a problem.

I would certainly recommend this hotel, I must admit that I normally tend to book with Travelodge as the price differential means that you have £15-£20 extra in your pocket but having stayed here I think it's fair to say that PI is well worth the extra and I would certainly use them again as a result of this stay.

It has been a while since I last stayed in a Premier Inn, and I must admit I was surprised and pleased. The staff were really helpful and friendly (well we are in the North again!!) and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bed, well for the hotel and price it was "massive” and really comfortable;. I think Lenny must have slept in this one due to the size!!

Adjacent to the hotel was the Malt House pub, which had good food and a nice beer. It was also very busy, but the service was good and we did not have to wait. Coming from the London area, the prices always amaze me for the value; you would not think only a couple of hundred miles separate us. It is a different world up there, and for the better I feel.

Would really recommend the hotel for a business stop over and do not be put off by the " assumed" expectation due to the "value" brand. Having stayed in a "few" hotels, I feel this is excellent value and the staff were great.

After being badly let down by our original venue only a few weeks before our wedding, we frantically had to search for another venue that could also accommodate our guests. As our wedding was over the bank holiday weekend this wasn't an easy task. We ended up choosing the Premier Inn, Chorley, with its adjoning facilities at the Next Generation Gym and the Malthouse Farm pub. From the moment we made our initial enquiry over the phone, nothing was too much trouble for the Manager Claire and her reception staff. They provided us with information and leaflets to send with our invitations; kept tabs on the number of rooms booked and available; even made up bread bags for the children to feed the ducks on the canal the day after our wedding. They were polite and freindly to all our guests from start to finish which didn't go unoticed. All in all their service contirbuted to make our wedding weekend perfect, especially as we had to re-arrange everything at such short notice.

We were just here passing through for a night, and this hotel was very reasonably priced and perfectly satisfactory. Our room was in the new annex and nicely outfitted and decorated. There was some noise from the pub across the square at night, but had brought my ear plugs. The pub itself had great food and atmosphere, and a scenic location on the leeds liverpool canal. On the whole, it was a little better than I expected.

As a family of four we stayed here just for one night. The weather outside was not so hot - but my oh my the room was too hot - there was already a small fan in the room and we needed to get another one from reception, this fan had to be left on all night. Also the child beds are not really suitable for children over the age of 10.

When we left I mentioned about the heat and was told it was lot worse last summer!!!!

The lack of air conditioning and being able to fully open the window would be the reason for not staying here again whatever the time of year and I would not recommend this to anyone for this reason.

The hotel is in a lovely location and is pleasantly decorated and clean and there is a nice pub next door - but the staff in the pub lacked direction and the manager who I assume is called Leighanne - was very rude!
