“Best place to stay locally...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

I've stayed at several hotels and B&B's in the East Lancs area, and for me, this is the BEST!! I stayed here for two months (early March to early May 2014) and I cannot praise the place enough...

ROOMS: Tastefully decorated, en suites, very comfortable beds, well equipped with flat screen tv's with inbuilt DVD players, DVDs, books, magazines, coffee making facilities, ironing board available on request (and it comes about 60 seconds later!!), desk, wardrobe with hangers etc.

LOCATION AND PARKING: Perfect position just off the M65 and just up the road from the pricier Dunkenhalgh Hotel. Parking is sufficient for the number of rooms - I only parked on the side street once in the 60 or so nights I stayed here!

FOOD: Home cooked meals are served Monday to Thursday, cooked by Gill and served by Rob. Three courses are available, good choice and variety, and specials regularly available. I must recommend the sticky toffee pudding - the best I've ever had!

SERVICE: The service by the management team of Rob and Gill is awesome. Your happiness and pleasure is their goal. They will do all they can to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They've been in hospitality for years and it shows. A tremendous welcome is given to all.

COMMUNAL AREAS: There is a lounge which serves alcohol. I spent several nights in there with various nationalities (Irish, Scots, Welsh, German, Australian, Dutch) and had many an interesting evening. And they just installed a new flat screen tv around the time I checked out.

CLEANLINESS: Rooms immaculately clean and serviced daily, couldn't fault it at all.

What more can I say? If you're looking to stay in the East Lancashire area, for business or pleasure in Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley or the surrounding areas, Maple Lodge is the friendly and welcoming place to stay where you are not just a number!! :-)

We chose this guest house because of its proximity to the Leeds/Liverpool Canal where we were having a weekend cycling. It is clean, comfortable, the breakfast plentiful and our hosts very friendly. They offered to lock our bikes away in the shed. Although on the main road and within spitting distance of the M65, triple glazing meant there was little noise.

I always stay at the Maple Lodge and find everything is always spot on. The rooms have everything you may need and are spotless and clean. I always stay in the annexe which is very quiet even though it is on a main rd. It is situated near to bus stops so once parked up you can relax and use public transport. The owners are very nice and helpful and the breakfast excellent.

I needed somewhere to stay whilst visiting family . This B&B is perfect for that . The room was very comfortable and had nice little touches . It was very clean . Despite being on a busy road, at night it was surprisingly quiet . I was in a room in the lodge, which is a separate annexe.
Breakfast was lovely . Very fresh and piping hot . The hosts were lovely .
Car parking available .

Room Tip: I was in the annexe . I don't know what rooms are like in the house but the annexe was quiet .

My friend and I were going to the Accrington Stanley game and this place is within 15 minutes walk. We shared room 5 which had two comfortable single beds, TV, ensuite shower/toliet. Everything was of a good quality. We liked the touch of there being some DVDs and books in the room.

We had an evening meal in their small restaurant, and a beer from their bar before setting off. Again, the meals were fine - just what we needed, a quick meal at a reasonable price as we had been travelling all day but didn't have much time to spare.

Next morning the breakfast was very good. As others have said, the 8.30am cut off for breakfast is a bit early but reflects the needs of most of their customers and was no problem to us.

The staff were very friendly and chatty. All in all, I would recommend this place as a stop over.
