We booked this about a month ago and travelled over from Northern Ireland to visit family and friends.
Unfortunately the weather didn't take or short break into consideration (as you can see from photos attached)
On arrival we were greeted warmly and clear directions were given to our lodge.
Each Lodge had its own parking bay and decking, we entered what I would almost call a show home. You walked into a open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen with lovely high ceilings making the whole lodge seem very spacious, this had a large dining table, then the lounge area had two sofas in front of a flame effect wall mounted electric fire, and above that a wide screen TV. The gas central heating was turned on and made the lodge feel more welcoming. In the kitchen area there was a fridge and separate freezer, cooker washing machine and dish washer with plenty of cupboard space, and all the plates, cups, pans etc etc were there too. This lodge was 2 bedrooms, the master was a great size with a wall mounted TV and en-suite toilet/shower. The second bedroom had two single and also had a TV/dvd player. There was also a bathroom/toilet. The whole lodge was spotless, and a added touch was a basket in the kitchen with shortbread, jam and a personalised welcome note.
The views were spectacular from almost every window. There was a very nice play area for the children with swings and climbing frames in a well looked after part of the camp.
There is a small store on the camp for immediate needs milk etc etc. There is also a bar/restaurant with a separate room for entertainment. There was a wide variety of food available which was piping hot and came at very reasonable prices.
I would not hesitate to recommend Todber to anyone who was thinking of visiting the area.

Have been twice before but this time found that the caravan wasn't up to it's usual standard. Lovely clean bedding, bathroom and kitchen area clean but to be honest the lounge could have done with hoovering and maybe the curtains should have been cleaned. We did find some old food in a cupboard with a sell by date of 3 months prior to our visit so I'm a bit surprised it didn't walk off on it's own. Also had the need to report two small jobs that needed attending to, we reported this on the first day but no -one came near to fix them. Also to use the wifi was impossible this time as there was a group of unattended children in there running riot and intent on smashing the place up with snooker cues. A bit disappointed this time.

Booked this short break just 48 hours before we went. The site is very quiet, not much to do on site but a really great base for walking/sightseeing. On arrival we had an easy book in from pleasant staff. We stayed in a superior caravan which was lovely and clean, lovely clean bedding and towels provided too! We had stunning views from the van we stayed in and had a very comfortable stay -the park itself is probably the cleanest we've seen, not a single item of rubbish anywhere - well done to the all the staff. Would definitely go back. and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful base.

OK, we got a last minute deal on a caravan and were worried that because of the low price the park or the caravan would be terrible! We were SO relieved to find a clean, site and caravan perched on a hill that has amazing views of the amazing hills that surround it and the dales in the distance.

The caravan was pretty new, clean, had Sky TV and DVD so when the kids were asleep we could keep up with big brother.

The park was really quiet. They were fully booked but if people weren't at the bar at the top of the hill (its far enough from the caravans not to hear any music if they have an event on) then they were either out, or just relaxing in their caravans or on their many balconies.

We didnt bother to check out the entertainment (they dont do too much anyhow) as we are happy for cosy nights in our caravan whilst our young children slept. But on the occasions I did pop into the bar to use the wifi, the staff were friendly and the regulars were a entertaining and again very friendly.

There is also a quiet area upstairs you can use the wifi away from the bar or food.

We were seriously pleased with our holiday, enjoyed it a lot. Were happy when staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. And of course we were pleased with the price when staying on the first day of the summer holidays!!!

This is the second holiday park owned by South Lakeland parks we've stayed in (the other being Limefitt). It's easy to find, being well signposted from the main road, and not too far from the nearest motorway.

First thing we noticed on arrival is that the caravans are spaced just a little too close together, not like Limefitt where there's quite a bit of room between caravans. The park looked like a bit of a sink estate in places, with mounds of rubble in gaps where caravans had once stood. The park is a mix of owned and rented caravans, so you do get the usual owner/nutters on the site - a small minority though, thanks again to the friendly gentleman who loaned me some barbecue fluid! Some of the caravans are very battered and let the place down a bit, I'm surprised South Lakeland don't move some of the older ones, I'm not sure they've owned the park for too long so maybe they are in the process of updating everything.

There's not a lot to do around the area park itself, a few historic houses, boot sales, Pendle Witches tours, some fairly unexciting stuff really. Onsite pub was OK for a drink but the menu was fairly limited, and there are much better pubs within a short drive (The Moorcock Inn was excellent). There was free WIFI in the pub which was a bonus.

On the upside, the caravan was up to the usual South Lakeland parks high standard, nothing could be faulted with it and it was very comfortable. It was also very good value as well, costing £79 (special offer) for a 4 berth for 3 nights. At that price you can't fault the value at all.

Overall, we'd probably go back for a short weekend break on special offer.. there isn't much to do in the area though (avoid the terrible Whalley Abbey) so it would be a relaxing on-site holiday I think.
