Have not been inside yet (you can take a tour), but am always taken by the impressive historic architecture of this Jesuit college and the overall peaceful setting of the place. Pleasant to indulge in a little up close sightseeing when passing through on the famous three rivers walk. Quite fun spotting the dominant towers in the distance on the walk when down by the river. Good picnic spot, but respect where you park as there are no public parking zones on the road leading up to the College which is flanked by playing fields. Recommend you park in the village of Hurst Green and walk along the road back to the College (approx half a mile). Hurst Green has a small public car park - voluntary payment for parking via a trust box, three very pleasant inns which offer customer parking, food and drink, some also have accommodation. There are also public toilets. Some considerate parking is available on the roads, being mindful of access for residents.

The school is in a most beautiful setting of the Hodder Valley.

There are numerous walks along trails around the school estate including the Tolkien Trail from the author's association via his son, John, a seminarian in what is now the Preparatory School, St Mary's Hall.

An earlier pupil was another writer, celebrated with a statue to his memory in Edinburgh. He wrote historical novels and created memorable fictional characters as Arthur Conan Doyle.
