All, I have lived fairly local to this pub for many years but not frequented a great deal and wish I had! Have began coming more regularly and can't say enough about how good this place is and how it has all the boxes ticked for a perfect pub/dining experience.

Staff are friendly, attentive, professional, kind, innovative and simply want the customer to have the best service possible. Food is amazingly tasty and the menu is diverse and rich. Beers on tap are top notch and the ambience is excellent it has the perfect blend of local pub atmosphere and restaurant quality.

They are very child friendly also and the young chap called Adam (I believe he is affectionally known as "Daley") behind the bar is exceptional and even speaks to my kids using their first name making them feel part of the experience.

Great location, plenty of parking and outside the back is a great sun trap when the English weather allows. Dave the land lord you are a good man and run a cracking establishment thank you.

We stay on a near by campsite and this place is only a 10 minute walk away. I have been using the pub for a few years and feel I have to share this place now. The manager (Dave) and his staff have created a fantastic atmosphere. The food is great, good size portion and what does make a welcome change is that the staff know the menu and make recomendatoins.

If you visit on a Friday or Saturday I would book in advance. There is seating outside if the weather is good. Even in the winter months the opne fires make the place so welcoming.

Go on give it a try

We had a very warm welcome on a Friday evening when we arrived without a booking for 7 of us. They found us a table in the bar and the service of all the staff was fantastic. The menu isn't vast but plenty to choose from and everything that we ordered was delicious and hot. They don't have a children's menu but will do any dish on the menu at a smaller portion which was great as the kids had a greater choice and not just 'kids food'. To give you an example of the menu we had sea bass, lamb shank, steak, fish n chips, scampi, steak pudding and sausages all with a choice of potatoes and vegetables.
We enjoyed ice cream, banana split and Edisford Mess for dessert all delicious.
There is a great choice of real ales and all the staff were helpful and efficient without being intrusive.
There is often a lack of relaxed, not fussy pubs with reasonably priced, good food that you can visit after a day outdoors and with the kids - this pub is a good choice, we will be back!

Came across this pub by accident and just went in to have a look. the Landlady and staff could not have been friendlier, The wide choice of ales in excellent condition, and though only a relatively small menu the meals were all home cooked, and delicious.
I will definitely be adding it to my list of favourite eating places.
