“A taste of Galicia in Lancashire”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

Me and my wife were looking for a good, reasonably priced meal on a tuesday evening, and chanced upon El Tapeo after wandering the empty streets of Clitheroe. We were not disappointed. We were the first in and were looked after by the very attentive staff. We chose a couple of dishes from the menu, only to be told that one of them was 'off' due to a busy weekend, and the other was only cooked for two, either ordered in advance, or by waiting 45-60 minutes. As this was a paella, this was reasonable and meant that it would have been cooked fresh and not just heated up from cold. When I looked more carefully at the menu, this was actually mentioned, so my fault! So we both chose the our second choice - the same as it happens, which was Zorza con patatas (pork with potatoes). But first we started with a tapas platter for two, comprising a selection of cured meats and cheese, which was very tasty and prepared our taste buds for the meal to come.
The Zorza was delicious. It was marinaded pork pieces cooked on skewers with pepper and onion, on a bed of potato pieces fried in oil with parsley and garlic. The portions were huge and Mrs B was offered a doggy bag to take her left overs home, which we accepted!
We still found room for a dessert, I managed Ice cream with chocolate sauce and Mrs B had fondue chocolate with churros to dip in which finished off the meal splendidly.
The meal was washed down with a very acceptable rose.
The bill was very reasonable and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Definitely recommended.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

7 of us including two children ate here on a busy Friday evening, the atmosphere was excellent. We ordered a selection of tapas to start followed by a paella and three other main course dishes. The food was delicious, portions v generous and the service was excellent. I would def recommend and we are disappointed we don't live closer

“Lovely Tapas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Lovely little restaurant, shame it was a quiet night, hence average score for atmosphere, but there is a good Spanish influence.
There is a wide range of tapas, we tried 6 dishes and they were all tasty. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the staff very friendly and knowledgable .

“Spanish Father's Day Treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

I was asked where I would like to go out to eat on Father's Day, yes it was El Tapeo again, the food and service was again fantastic. You really do feel like you are in Spain the atmosphere is wonderful and the owners make you feel like they are welcoming you into their own home, they have even installed a TV in the bar area.
So if it's a meal or just a coffee or a glass of wine, El Tapeo is the place to go.
Gracias.
