“Nice food , great service”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Finding the inn was a nightmare - lessened when the host struck off the drinks bill for our problems. A nice touch. As as giving us a map to get back !

My starter of crab cake Thai style was enormous and incredibly tasty. My duck main was cooked to perfection, although some of the accompaniments were a bit strange and didn't work for me - beans ! And something resembling a sausage roll. But overall good. Wine very reasonably priced.

We shared a lovely sticky toffee pudding. We went on a Thursay evening and were one of only two diners - so no atmosphere.maybe they got lost,

“Rude service and lukewarm tasteless food”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

I visited this establishment again, the last time was OK, but this time was awful.

Now, I've eaten in Michelin star restaurants and you get food cooked how you want. This has no stars and the waiter's attitude when he flat refused to have my venison anything more than medium absolutely stunk. He was pushy to get an alternative and what an alternative it was.

Once the comedic waitresses has stopped bumping into each other, diners and the walls, my duck arrived and had obviously lingering under a hot plate. It was dry, tasteless and not that warm.

With it were home made baked beans (!) which were encrusted they were so dry.

Forgot to mention the pate for starter. OK mentioned it...that's all it deserves as it had little taste and was just a greasy mess.

It's not cheap here and not worth it unless you enjoy the Basil Fawlty school of being rude to patrons.

Far better places, easier to get to with far better service, food and not as shabby.

“Great food in a glorious setting”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

My husband and I visited on the 9th of July for lunch.
We had heard and read great things of this restaurant and we were not in any way disappointed.
We had three courses each, all of which were well cooked & tasty.
Special mention must go to the smoked salmon starter and the chocolate brownie pudding, both divine!
The staff were professional & friendly, with just the right amount of time between courses.
We were lucky with the weather and were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views.
