The cottage has been tastefully modernised while keeping features like old pine doors. It was very clean and had everything we needed.
The welcome pack was very generous and would have provided breakfast for our 3 day stay.
Close enough to walk into town and new food market/ cafe opposite that’s is going to have a leisure centre added.
Outside space on small side but there is a park next door.
Parking on street can get busy but we always managed to find a space.
We were attending wedding but would go back as Forest of Bowland is well worth a visit.
Bonnygrass Cottage is a truly delightful cottage. It is set back from the road with flowers galore surrounding it. It backs onto the castle grounds. Location could not be better as Sainbury’s is located just across the road . The refurbished Holmes Mill is also located across the street. The living room is comfortable with a high definition flat screen tv. There is a wood fireplace all set to be used but the temperature has been too warm this week. The dining room is useful for our workspace. Wifi works well. The kitchen is our favourite room. It is bright and cheery with a good sized table. There is lots of counter space for working. Helen, our host left a generous welcome package of Eccles cakes, cereal, croissants, bread, milk, juice and butter. There are ice cubes in the frig which I always appreciate. The stove works well and there is a washing machine. The kitchen French doors open onto a delightful back yard with four comfortable chairs and a table. A lovely area to relax in the sunshine. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Comfortable beds and pillows. The walk in shower is a great size. It has been quiet for sleeping.
Helen was the perfect hostess; generous welcome basket and excellent communication. She even offered us to check-in early since we were to fly in mid-morning.
Impeccably clean property heated for arrival, fully equipped kitchen with provided user manuals, comfy beds, lots of fluffy towels and hot showers/baths (very welcome after a day spent rambling round) and superb location vis-a-vis buses, trains and pubs.
There's even a wood burner set up to get a fire going, even if we didn't get to use it since the weather was very kind to us.
Thank you for a wonderful fortnight, Helen! We hope to return soon :)
Our stay in Clitheroe was made lovely by the nicely appointed Bonnygrass Cottage. Two bedrooms and two baths made it convenient for myself and my two sisters. The rooms were large and comfortable with drawers and a closet to make our week stay seem like home. Lamps at each bedside table for easy reading.
We were greeted in the light and airy kitchen by a basket with a variety of cereals and cookies, along with jams, jelly and butter. Coffee, tea, sugar along with milk provided in the frig.
The wood stove in the living room was set up and ready to start with wood and coal. We enjoyed it one rainy evening.
A washer/dryer made it possible to keep our clothes clean.
Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful cottage.
