I have just completed 4 years at this hotel as a weekly resident while on business in the area. Neil and Tracey with their staff have made my extended stay a real pleasure in every way. They create an environment that embraces all the residents and guests with such a warm feeling. The staff cannot do enough for you and are flexible at meeting guests requirements.

Stayed at the Whitehall hotel with a large party of people as we were attending a wedding elsewhere. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and showed us nothing but a good time. Had breakfast in the morning, which was superb, and loved the fact that the bar stayed open until we all went to bed! I would defiantly recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area!

I was sad to read that a family had been dissatisfied with a recent funeral buffet at the Whitehall Hotel. I have been to many functions at the hotel including a funeral buffet and have always found the food to be very good and the staff more than helpful. I do know that the manager or a member of staff show the main mourner the buffet table before it is served for their approval.

Unfortunately with this being of a sensitive nature, we did not speak with the Manager on the day as it was upsetting enough, i wrote on behalf of my brother-in-law who was the bereft. A buffet was ordered for 50 guests. The food was brought out and served to guests, and there was not enough food for a childrens party of 6! when a member of my family approached a member of staff to see if any more food would be coming out, he replied, " people are filling their plates", which was very strange as they were serving the guests, 2 triangle sandwiches and approx 6-8 chips which equates to 1 slice of bread! the bowls of chips they were serving from was only big enough for 4 people sharing! The Managers reply is that his staff did not have any recollection of this, which also seems strange as i put the complaint in the very next day! he also said when we requested more food they provided food for an additional 15 guests at no extra cost, which also seems strange as after a headcount there was only 50 guests so there should have been adequate food in the first place. we are very dissappointed with this reply not even an offer of a complimentary lunch or anything, the money spent over the bar that day would have amounted to £700 at least and by our reckoning the buffet amounted between £40 -£50 and it cost £7.50 per head. You speak as you find and we cannot fault the actual venue, the value for money NO!!!!!! definately not recommended

We had a lovely nights stay at the Whitehall Hotel. The staff were very friendly (especially the duty manager). Beautiful breakfast and comfy room. There are beautiful grounds to the hotel, but there was no view from our room. The room was very clean with a lovely four poster bed. negatives - the floor boards in the room were very squeaky and we could not get the jacuzzi to work, but it was still a lovely bath! We would definitely stay here again, Excellent value for money

Thank you for your recent review regarding your stay here at the Whitehall. All of the team here are delighted you had a lovely stay and I have passed your kind comments to both Elio and Dave our duty managers who took care of you. We are especially pleased you enjoyed our breakfast and four poster bed. We will certainly look at the spa bath and floor boards and sincerely hope we will be welcoming you back in the not so distant future.

This review is a bit late but we are new to trip advisor. We had our wedding at the Whitehall back in December 2012 and it really was a day to remember. We really were made to feel like a part of the Whitehall family from the moment we walked through the door. The setting is amazing, service flawless and the food fantastic. The rooms were all wonderful, especially the wedding suite with the four poster bed. Wish we could do it all again. Perfect day, Thank you all.

We stayed at the Whitehall for a family " do " and were fortunate to book a room.
From arrival, the staff impressed by their very warm and welcoming approach. Our room was faultless, - spacious, comfortable, well appointed and beyond our expectations given the 3 star rating,( a novelty in itself )
The food was excellent. It is hard to define " ambience " but this hotel had it - in spades.
If I am to return to Darwen, it would be to this hotel. Loved it.
