Booked a table for twenty to celebrate a 50th birthday. From start to finish the experience was superb. The restaurant (MJ's) and the food was exceptional. The venue, staff and accommodation are to be commended. Would highly recommend !!!

Stayed at the Whitehall Hotel on the 17th Sept. 2008 in the bridal suite as it was our silver wedding annivesary, the room was very spacious and clean with a four poster bed and on suite facilites, we also had champagne and strawberrys . You must have a meal in the restaurant 'MJs' the food is excellent as was the cheif Steve who went out of his way to make our meal one to remember. I would'nt hesitate to recommend this hotel to everyone , we found the staff all be friendly and the hotel clean .Looking forward to staying their again in the future.

At the weekend, we had our civil wedding ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening buffet at The Whitehall Hotel. It was the most wonderous day.

The sun shone - and in this country that has been a rarity this summer - which enabled us to fully appreciate the beautiful grounds.

The room for the ceremony is a lovely shape and was just the right size for our party of 64. The decor is gold which lends itself beautifully to being dressed up for a wedding.

The food throughout the day was outstanding from moreish fish & chip canapes wrapped in a "newspaper" during the drinks reception, to piping hot beautifully flavoured soup, again a lovely, hot chicken dinner and sticky toffee pudding to die for - wonderfully light. What also went down particularly well with our guests were the bacon & sausage barm cakes and chips served in the Rose Room for our evening reception.

The bridal suite was lovely and the adjoining bathroom enormous with its jacuzzi bath.

The breakfast the following day was in MJs restaurant which is a completely different style to the main building. MJ's is a modern restaurant with extremely comfortable chairs - they don't look it when you first see them - very clean lines throughout and the most enormous fishtank. The windows overlook the garden at the back of the hotel and again the sunny weather made this a very pleasant experience.

I can't thank the staff enough for making our day one that we shall remember fondly forever.

We had held our wedding and reception at the beautiful Whitehall Hotel in Darwen after looking around at several other venues in the area and I was not to be disappointed. The whole experience was delightful and I will always look back fondly on a very special day for us. The staff and in particular the manager Nick went out of their way to make our day one for us and our guests to remember for a life time. In the weeks and months leading up to the big day they carefully helped us plan every single detail, nothing was too much trouble, even when we changed our plans a few times! The day itself went like a dream, the atmosphere was amazing , the surroundings are to die for, the food was first class. We wanted a special day and that's what we got. It was our day surrounded by family and friends. I've always hated the way at larger venues where we have been to weddings there have been boards up with the names of several happy newly weds who were all celebrating at the same hotel. Here we were made to feel special...........very special ! The only sad part was the day had to end at all and the staff in charge were very strict about serving our non resident guests after the music had finished which was a little bit sad as some of our guests had travelled quite a distance. In a way I did feel like Cinderella who had been to the ball as everything stopped at midnight but I got to stay with my Prince Charming !! Overall I would recommend it to anyone wanting a personal, well planned wedding in glorious surroundings. We will certainly be going back to stay again (even though we only live down the road) to bring all those happy memories back. It was fantastic. Thank you to everyone at the Whitehall you made my dreams come true
